Opposition will reportedly look for another candidate to face Nicolas Maduro at the election, as Juan Guaido failed to remove him.
The Venezuelan opposition is considering withdrawing its support for the US-backed Juan Guaido, according to Reuters. Such a move would impact the future of Caracas’ frozen billions of dollars in overseas holdings.

Guaido's international backers, led by the US, refused to recognize Nicolas Maduro as the country's president after elections in 2018. However, despite the political challenge to him from Guaido, and the heavy sanctions introduced on his ‘regime’ by the West, Maduro has remained in power and is still considered the country’s legitimate president by most of the world.

According to Reuters’ sources, the opposition parties want to focus on choosing a single candidate to stand against Maduro in the next election, set to be held by 2024. Primaries to select a candidate are set for June 2023.
According to Reuters, five of six opposition parties will not support Guaido or any other acting leader, with only his own Voluntad Popular party prepared to continue supporting Washington's man.

Meanwhile, a person close to Guaido, quoted by the Reuters, said that he would be prepared to step aside but only when the opposition sets out its plans for the multi-billion state assets held abroad. These include US-based oil refiner Citgo Petroleum and more than $1 billion in gold at the Bank of England.

The assets came under Guaido’s control after the US recognized the head of the National Assembly as an interim leader of the country.

Syrian air defense systems destroyed two cruise missiles and four guided bombs launched by Israel's F-16 fighters at the airports of Damascus and Al-Dimas on Friday, Col. Andrei Boldyrev, the deputy head of the Russian Center for the Reconciliation of Warring Parties in Syria, said on Saturday.

"Syria's air defense systems destroyed two cruise missiles and four guided bombs over the course of an air defense battle," Boldyrev said.

The official specified that the attacks were carried out on Friday evening by four Israeli F-16 jets operating from the Golan Heights.

stop yanning trash in this forum. time without number it has been proven that main Russia elites force was decimated in Ukraine. the force created specifically to fight NATO. is it not Russia that's hasn't faught any outside war for past 70yrs . time without number here we have been able to proven number of regular army in Russia ..it is not more 300k+, presently more than 200k are fighting in Ukraine. stop fooling urself Russia army doesn't have weight to challenge NATO without nuke. for a country to call for reservists(not regular army oo) that means the regular army has been depleted. even Nigeria has millions of reservists but 200k army. Nigeria can't go to war with reservists except the army is stretched. continue feeding on Putard propaganda. while Ukraine will continue taking trophy in the battlefield.

Conscripts drafted into Ukraine war 'threaten to topple Russian regime over spluttering invasion'

In footage taken inside a military camp, one uniformed conscript earns raucous cheers from his peers after suggesting soldiers should topple their leaders.

The unnamed reservist spoke about the lack of respect soldiers hold for Putin and his commanders, berating an unseen official for using threats to get people to join the cause.

He mocked a policy in his region - the Tuva republic in Siberia - to gift a ram to each family of those mobilised.

'You give our families, children, a manky ram [sheep], and some groceries,' he said, adding disparagingly: 'What is this?'

In his heroic address - for which he could face severe punishment in Putin's Russia - the reservist told his top brass officers 'threatened us' when they were drafted.

'They told us that if we didn't go there [to Ukraine], they would put us in jail,' he said in his native Tuvan language.

'They wouldn't help our families, they would stop all payments… There are not enough walkie-talkies for our squads… How will we communicate [in the war zone]?'

He also joined a chorus of voices on the frontline complaining about the lack of suitable equipment and gear.

In the vision, the reservist said his group had not been given enough walkie-talkies and no adequate socks ahead of being sent 3,200 miles to fight for Putin.

'These socks issued to us are of no use. We have already bought enough ourselves.'

To me Russia cannot be easily finished given their natural resources and intellectual manpowers but what struck me was how poor some regions are within that Russia. It is like Fulani Hausa relationship. Systematically neglected and intellectual enslaved Hausas are doing the bidding of Fulani masters today in insecurity crisis because it is easier to lure them with poverty. Fulanis only became more involved when their brother got to power and even at that, engage in the financially rewarding crimes unlike illiterate Hausa's.

To think within russia, the acclaimed world power by Putardinhos, they are using rams and groceries to lure the men to battle front with next to no weapons. I am so confused.
Like Nigeria we like to see ourselves as the giant of Africa when few men plundering our resources show off but are the poverty capital of the world. Russia too with all those oligarchy are so poor, rams and groceries are used to bribe them to battle. How much is a ram? 200 USD ?
