A former Gombe State Commissioner for Economy, Budget and Planning under Governor Dankwambo’s regime, Danladi Mohammed Pantami has resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP).

This is contained in a letter dated 7th November, 2022, duly signed by Pantami and addressed to the ward chairman of the party, Mallam Sidi Ward, in Kwami Local Government Area of Gombe State.

Pantami did not give reason for his action.

“I write to notify you that I have resigned my membership of the Peoples Democratic Party with immediate effect.

“While thanking the party for the privileges accorded to me, please accept my esteem regards”, the letter read.

The move by Pantami is considered by many as a bad omen for the main opposition party in the State, with the 2023 general elections a few months away.

Obi should not bother to come to Gombe. Its battle between Asiwaju and Atiku. Those who are deceiving Obi should let him know the reality on ground. You build bridges ahead of the time, you will need the bridge, you dont build the bridge 7 months to an election especially in a presidential election

Its just like saying Southern Borno will vote Obi just because he is Christian. Or believing Christian in West will vote Obi because he is Christian. It does not work that way in Borno and it will not work that way in Gombe
