gypsey:It is like you think I am calling for the taxation of the poor alone...I am calling for the taxation of everyone...poor and rich, and naturally the richer you are, the higher your tax rate. In the UK the government provide jobs and then tax workers, but Soludo have not provided any jobs but want to force taxes...1.The UK charges high taxes...and in return provides anemites which make job creation easier. Also, UK power and water companies charge high rates by Nigerian standards, to provide the anemites that everyone benefits from, and also...provides jobs directly and indirectly. UK is not like Naija government that creates civil service jobs on paper, that contribute zero production and revenue. 2.Yes, UK can afford benefits for jobless people...BECAUSE THEY HAVE ENOUGH REVENUE FROM TAXING EVERYONE...informal and formal. Have you paid your taxes?Yes, I am on PAYE, and have a TIN. Have you paid yours? |

/ Instead of Soludo to probe and pursue the scam called Obiano, he decides to look the other way because: a). Obiano is a party member of APGA b). Soludo is the beneficiary of the loot used in election. Instead he is putting pressure on the citizens to raise funds for his projects. The level of hypocrisy in Nigerian politics is mind-boggling. / |

Sammy07:Forget that's what Anambra needs. Even if you tell any 9jrian to pay 1 naira they go complain abi no be Nigeriand again. What can't we complain about? We complain about everything and at the same time we want to develop like America and Europe. Everyone forming their own boss, soluda should not relent, it might seems that way in adapting to change but in years to come everything will normalize. Anambra can't afford to be generating meager 40bn as igr. The state has high tax potential to generate far more and that should be fully utilized. We have a long way to go in this 9ja and government needs to make the hard decision and stick to it even with the blackmail. The 30k he charged for trucks with goods worth over millions how is that much? Nigerians always want to have their cake and eat it something they can't try abroad. That school he demanded 100k do you know how much they pay per child! Might run into hundreds of thousands despite that CEO no won pay tax. Na only Nigeria one rich man go hold up billions in account where his follow street man dey suffer and they go follow dey complain about bad roads. It's time we tax the rich to fix the poor. It's time to eradicate "Nigeria is the best place to be if you have money" it should be a place for all despite your financial status. |

Penguin2:Baba forget the rate of increase what you should be looking at is the worth of goods. This are goods worth over millions of naira, this are goods which can bring a million naira or hundreds of thousands gain to the owner. So how much is 30k from that. It's even meager self, now imagine soludo decide to charge 10% or even 0.05% I tell you it'll be far more than 30k and that's what they charge abroad. It's high time we advance with our mentality, with this poverty induce thinking of ours we won't go anywhere, if everyone sees himself as the government then they will be no advancement. The letter clearly state that they charge according to the tire of the truck which shows appropriate taxation base on weight... As you are complaining people are making billions from business with no appropriate taxation. But na from those small 30k some of us they collect government dey remove from, it's high time they start taxing base on your rate, no body should have extremely high profit to the detriment of others, they should be taxed accordingly abeg. |

In Kobonaire234:Sense Imagine all this where done 25yrs ago Nigeria won't be at this mess. We have missed our past! But Is the current generation willing to suffer for the next generation? So how do we go from here? Buhari has some good policies per say but I don't see it envisioning any impact in the next 5yrs. The likes of buhari closing border policies should have happened 20yrs back and probably we might be better off today |

gypsey:Oga na Nigeria you dey. Everybody head dey kolo for here. If they explain to you 20x person may no go pay no go pay. Abi no be Nigeria again. Sometimes I don't envy the government using thugs and werey to charge some of this businesses, go with calm demeanor they no go answer, show them craze wey pass their own dey go start to cry, Las Las they will still pay. There's something seriously lacking in a black man sense. Everybody behaves like a boss in their own, everybody sabi governance, evrbody is right, everybody deserves to move first, everybody doesn't want criticism. That's why give a 9ja man small power or money him go use am oppress e fellow man, e go show say him superior pass e other man. Give am small opportunity him go corrupt steal enough money, for what? To oppress him fellow mate. Nobody normal for here, hence only abnormal government go fit reason 9ja. |

IfnobeGod20:No Lagos was not done 'without hassle'. There was serious hassle in Lagos, in fact Obj have to won tinubu seriously they even carry Lagos state government go court. You Sabi the amount of businesses that fought LASG? Or many companies that left Lagos to ogun because of their land use acts and tax rates. Forget Nigerians doesn't want change and that's why this country will never improve. Imagine people planing to vote soludo out because he propose tax even though it'll be use for state benefits. |

BossGerald:This is Osun state, Osun generated 21 billion even as one of the state with the least IGR in South west. Anambra home of chest beater and ghost billionaires could only generate 30 billion. South East is the smallest region in Nigeria, Oyo is bigger than South East, it should be the easiest region to develop.

Kobonaire234:Okay, if you say so Taxes are new to most ordinary Naigerians, Soludo should start by educating people subtly, mostly the meagre earners on how taxes are important and show them why and how taxes are important in developing their communities. not just wake up one day and start enforcing taxations with thugs with guns. If he carries on like this he will lose support Yes, i pay alot of taxes in the UK where i was born and bred i also pay taxes in Naigeria |

This Soludo is turning out to be a disaster. I see him ending up on a disastrous note. A few months ago he was busy begging Anambrarians for votes. Today he has become an emperor picking battles with everyone. A typical Nigerian politician that will beg for votes today and turn out as overlords tomorrow. |

I am never against taxation but if only you can show what you do with tax payers money and not just to enrich one tout or any government personel. UK and US that we envy have sane people and sane government who use tax to make the country a better place for visitors and citizens; not Nigeria where one man will use the tax to compensate one tout that supported his emergence into office or use it to buy cars, build houses/hotels. |

Baba, I've been buying from Onitsha for years now. Just recently did he impose a tax of N22,000 (per loading) on every 911 truck that loads at Elene dump, Iron market b4 the Head bridge. This is an evidence to back up my view. The former fee was N6,000 and it jumped from N6,000 to N22,000. Not at this time when the economy is biting. So stop saying what you don't know. Odin13:

warlordd:Agberos only collect money from loaded vehicles plying roads and not from traders who went to their warehouses or parking stores that's inside the same market to take goods and refill their shops. Is that not wickedness. You bring goods from China, you pay all those customs levies, bring it down to the market and still pay for offloading it to your warehouse then later on when you want to move the same goods from warehouse to your shop, you still pay for loading and offloading to your shop. The same traders will later pay taxes in various shops. And you're there saying nothing is wrong with it. |
