Dropped the anime...for now...not because of the art or the story per se(art and animation is top notch, story looks good, and I like the way that they made clear that no one is safe from being removed, even MC)....but because I don't think (Yes I know, it is a story, it is fantasy)...that you get a good football striker by the method espoused in the anime.......ie my disagreement with the philosophy of the training camp overwhelmed my suspension of belief.

All the strikers that we say 'won the world cup' for their countries, did so at the head of, or as part of amazing teams made up of equally amazing players, who could step up, assuming the star striker got injured. (See Brazil 1962).

Football is a team sport. Strikers are only as good as the team makes them to be, which is why Messi and Ronaldo have not won a world cup up till now, their teams were not good enough.

Need a good sport anime? All Out...about a rugby team made up of mostly new comers to rugby. Naturally they lose all their matches, except the last one in the anime.
Run with the wind....about a university athletics team, again made up of first timers, who do not win per se, but do enough to improve their university's ranking (and in the final episode, attract a lot of new and talented members after the old cohort graduate).

Now this is good criticism. A wise comrade unlike some retards that will insult both the anime and the people who watch it because it doesn't align with their with narrow stupidity.An example of such goats in human skin made a foolish comment up there.

I thought the same thing when I started reading the manga, but the art was so good that I decided to continue reading.

Your are right a lot of football fans find the blue lock logic silly, just try and enjoy it if you can

Well, most anime to me does not 'make sense' (I am currently watching More than a married copule, not just lovers, which has the funny idea that the education ministry is going to be spending billions on luxury apartments for student practicals....and also before that...I watched Isekai pharmacy...where a reincarnated pharmacologist brings antibiotics to a pre-antibiotic world...the concept made me scream...bacterial resistance.....I work in healthcare.....plus they jumped a lot of science steps...but still).

But football...is still a team sport.

Even if they got a striker who 'has the charisma to get a team around him;...there is still the issue of

1. Every team needs a coach to provide a style of play...which the striker may not fit into.

2. A good striker still needs a good midfield and defence. Charisma can only take you that far....

3.Who told you the other team doesn't have better defenders. Plus, all it takes to handle a super striker is to study him, and make the appropriate adjustment to neutralize him

Like I said, the story is not bad, and they seem not to have the superpowered MC thing(which made me happy).....but for once my suspension of disbelief cannot overcome my dislike for the philosophy. Most of the world's great strikers learned their football...by playing on teams, practicing with teams, and fitness. Not by being locked up in a secret compound with several other boys and being forced to play Highlander...the soccer version.

(Not just anime....recently I sat down and read a novel where the premise was, the then britsh monarch dies...without leaving a heir...meaning the PM moves to declare the UK a republic....FORGETTING THAT THERE IS SOMETHING CALLED the LINE OF SUCCESSION. And the author was one of my favorites...so I was not too pleased . Even the monarch that eventually emerged...the author had to use Deus ex machina to get him to the throne eventually_)

Anyways, it's just manga and anime.Some may like it, others may not. Blue lock might have worked for me if it was a boxing or fight sport anime.

There aren't many silly reasons for dropping a show. You can drop a show because you don't like the main character's face. It just means it wasn't for you, which is perfectly ok.

The fact that it was intended to be unrealistic doesn't change the fact that it is still unrealistic and OP wasn't feeling that.

At least OP gave a well though out reason for dropping it. I dropped it after like 3 chapters because I just felt it was kinda lame.

I never read your previous post, and my criticism of blue lock is valid because it was neither made as a comedy nor parody of a sports anime. Blue lock was made to be a thrilling sports manga and for that to work, premise would have to be believable.
