He was born in the US, and chose to represent the US.

Once upon a time, world cup representation rules used to be different. (Alfredo di Stefano, the Real Madrid great played for more than one country at successive world cups.....).

Maybe he could have played for Liberia, like his dad. But he wants to play at the world cup, I guess...so playing for the US was his choice. He is a human being, and has freedom of choice.

Let's be honest...am sure that Timmy boy could come and play for Liberia...but at the end, he is a human being. And like many human beings past and present, there are times he can refuse to listen to his papa.....because he has something called freedom of choice.
