The answer is partly dark...Saudi Arabia had a lot of slaves. Millions of black people were taken into slavery by the Arabs. (SA ended slavery only in 1969.).

Also, a lot of black people migrated to Saudi over the years to live...note that the definition of Arab includes people who are as black as we are, but are culturally Arab. (don't ask me for a more detailed discussion...suffice it to know that many Arab countries are very complex places...with tribes and regions...).
