This isn't about greed but gross negligence from the leaders.
Nigerians leaders prefer to keep the masses impoverished thereby making healthcare unaffordable to most. They themselves who hoard the funds run abroad for any little treatment so what do you expect medical practitioners to do?

This is a double edge sword.

These Doctors were majorly trained on Subsidized Education Policy of the Government to be useful to Nigeria and Nigerians.

Then the Economy went south and every one want a piece of the Good Life.

Government can't give the Good Life, Everyone want the Good Life (Doctors inclusive). So what happens, a lot are looking for where the Grass is Greener.

For me, I won't stop anyone that want to leave, let them leave. There is enough to replace them.

Parents should encourage their kids to study Medicine and other allied Professions. There is a sure guarantee of employment.

Then let Govt to encourage those that are staying behind not because they can't Japa but because they just feel that they in Team " we die here"

If you go around building schools, the money for salaries and teaching equipment is more than the money for building the school.
So after building the school, there will still be no money for salaries and medical equipment.
Of what use is the school then?

Why the lamentations?

Everyday crying but no laid down strategy to at least attract fresh graduates ( trained in Nigeria and outside- whether it is called observationship/ practicum) in the health field to work in Naija at least with N10000 stipend and small, one room self contained apartment so at least they contribute their quota while they build on their experiences/ skills.

Fresh graduates still labor to throw in applications and get a house(+ high agreements)...Going through needless protocols even if is free service( at both government and good private specialist hospitals).

Tell me, with these rigours who would want to stay for long or stay at all to serve Nigeria? Some even when u want to work for free see it as strange and like something you need favor from them.

We need to be more pragmatic about with solutions for the health sector to be 'bouyant'...

We have good, big and specialist hospitals but our politicians travel abroad for health checks... None of the campaigning politician for 2023 Presidential seat has so far said much about banning Medical tourism for politicians and making it part of the constitution.
