Good - lagging indicator - kenya has fixed this - now we are leading in Africa.
They should update their figures.
that was 2019.......can't say you are leading Africa when the actual proof says otherwise

Now we are doing 100% transition to secondary.

Kenya has adopted a policy that will ensure that all learners transit from primary to secondary levels of education until they attain 'basic education
we are talking about attainment rates of secondary and tertiary students

And SA has a 103% Secondary enrolment rate

Maybe because kenya participate in world maths contest - not something Ghana can lead in.

grin grin

Now your argument has shifted ... How many schools were you expecting to represent Ghana?

Kenya hasn't ever qualify from Africa math and science competitions.... The best has always been Ghana, SA Egypt Tunisia and co.

Should I should you outcome from other schools doing exploit in science math engineering law economics and etc

Again lagging versus leading indicators; Kenya has started to push for 100% enrollment; that mean completion or attainment rate will go up; but of course it will take some years before we get to South Africa level - as many older kenyans would already been out of that net.

Again most important - we are now on QUANTITATIVE education measures...when we were talking quality /qualitative measures.

So in short South Africans stay (or stayed) in school longer but their quality of education is poor.

You don't have the highest tertiary attainment rate from the best universities in Africa if you don't have a quality education system....there isn't a debate, Kenya has a good education system, one of the best in Africa...but you are still way behind SA

Almost every Ghanian or Kenyan who has gone to both countries admit it no contest. We just have a mad cow here on the loose.

Overall - Kenya is doing well considering it's level of development - and South Africa underperforms (outside Cape province & such) - a legacy of apertheid in education - that condemned African kids to low quality Bantustan education lingers on.

Kenyans use to fail to go to high school - because of poverty - but now that is changing.

nope if you compare SAs educational ranking with countries of similar development rates we are on par....FYI this is qualitive not quantitive
Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by rvp2018: 12:51pm On Nov 28, 2022
That is not true. The level of disparity btw provinces is still very high. Schools in Western Cape and such white/colored majority are doing great versus the rest . There is still lingering apertheid that you're too embarrassed to admit let alone address. Of course kenya has regional disparities too...but it mostly climate related...remote/arid lag behind. It's not racial..like South africa...that condemns majority blacks with poor quality education.

Do you need an analysis of your 18,068km paved network?
So it not 1864km again ?

Keep dreaming to cover the shame you have for Kenya in it underdevelopment.

It will take your country years to get to 44,000km

You have to qualify from Africa first before you can get there and so far, these are the countries that have been consistent

Ghana, SA Egypt Tunisia and co

it's spelled apartheid "Mr Kenya education is the best"

And if you look at the attainment rates vs SAs racial demographics there is still a much higher attainment rate for none white students in SA vs Kenya

What about the large 'school economy ' that the boarding school system creates where there's a large market of/for consumers/producers of school furniture, books, teachers, administrators, cloth sellers, food sellers, carpenters, etc etc?

I've been saying Ghana should even increase her boarding schools to take maximum 3000 students. Day schools should do 1,500. We should build storey buildings/high rises to accomodate the extra numbers

Anywhere schools especially boarding schools are established, the local economies of these places also flourish. Add to that the extras of academic excellence, discipline, no to and fro transport costs etc and you'd see boarding has lots of pluses
To add to it, boarding school system promotes national cohesion.

One of the reasons Ghana has remained peaceful till date is because of our boarding system.
In our boarding schools you will find students from almost every Region in one school and that help students to learn new things. By the time you complete SHS you would have become more tolerant and enlightened about other tribes than you were before.

Today there's almost no tribal conflicts in Ghana because of some of these deliberate policies and systems we have in place.

A tribally polarized country like Kenya should learn from Ghana. Boarding system is very expensive but it's the best.

it has always been a girls high school whether the term existed then or not.
The British high schools formed in the 1600s and 1700s where all teaching the very same things.
Sewing, house keeping, religious studies, reading and writing

Basically, Kenyans did not have any form of education untill 1900s
That is why you guys have nothing significant of history
They had one that started as an elementary school. But one idiot a few pages back doesn't know the difference between elementary school and secondary school.

You have six tribes of similar tribal group (volta-niger) - with one group at almost 50% percent.
You cannot compare it to kenya with 42 tribes - of three or more different tribal grouping - all of which are 5-20%
Kenya is by it's nature divided because there is no dominant group.
All tribes are small and in competition.
There is no Akan/Ashanti that dominate the rest.

The main purpose of education is to teach kids - the rest are nice to have.

He was a refugee who found a home in Kenya after being kicked out by military - and there were many Ghanians - all over the world running away from their military rule - and now they still run away from their economic mess - despite all the gold. The guy had been CJ in Ghana and kenya gave him the caretaker role. I dont see any of that as being exemplary...of Ghana or of him. He was chief justice refugee who found use.
