Oyetola left N76bn debt in salary/pensions – Osun Govt
The Osun state government has uncovered a monumental debt in salaries, pensions, and insurance commitments incurred by the administration of Mr. Gboyega Oyetola amounting to N76 billion.
This revelation was made by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Finance, Mrs. Bimpe Ogunlumade, while briefing officials of the new administration on the financial status of the state on Thursday.
The disclosure was contrary to the claim by the former Governor that he left N14bn in cash for the new government among other bogus claims that have now been found to be an outright falsehood.
The breakdown of the salaries and pension-related liabilities as disclosed by the Permanent Secretary are as follows:
(I) Salary: N29,875,191,128.64
(II) Pension Arrears: N45,375,237,693.40
(III) Group Life Assurance Scheme: N554,644,028.97
Total: N75,805,072,851.01
The public is advised that this is not the total debt left by the past administration as briefings on other sources of liabilities continue tomorrow.
Signed:
Mallam Olawale Rasheed,
Spokesperson to the Executive Governor

It's obvious Oyetola paid for the sins of his god fathers.
Minus Emilokan & Bubu, Oyetola would have won the re election.

Osun people voted out APC, not Oyetola

Aregbesola left 100 billion in pension debt alone. 170 billion in total debt. This is the first time, after peter obi, that a governor won't borrow, and will leave debt level less than he met it. My major grudge against the past governor is that it's a stolen mandate.

Oyetola is not owing any salary or pension arrears. The arrears in question are from the Aregbesola administration. Oyetola even paid some of it.

At least, Adeleke couldn’t dispute the fact that Oyetola left B14billion cash in the state coffers for him despite Aregbesola not leaving a kobo for him. Adeleke should he grateful instead of trying to paint his predecessor bad. If he had inherited what Oyetola inherited, he won’t be able to dance for the next 12 months.

Hahaha.. Pension debt is cummulative especially for retired civil servants not on the new pension scheme.
I hope Sen. Nurudeen Adeleke will clear all so that the pensioners will be happy.

Just like Aregbejegbese, Oyetola have left his own debts too while claiming that the state is not owing or borrowed any money. Meanwhile, time will tell how much Adeleke will incur @ the end of his government.

Not everyone is Peter Obi. Actually, there is only one other governor since Nigeria came to be who did anything close to that.

The cash alone he left in Anambra State Govt coffers is about 75bn, not to talk of other investments. And this was despite running other projects too

Obiano that was running mouth that Obi left debts was nowhere to be found when a concerned professional body arranged a meeting to put their independent claims to a test, while Peter Obi promptly showed up with all documentation to support his claims.

Oyetola is not owing any salary or pension arrears? Really?
Since he got there, he has not paid any new retiree a dime, though that has been happening before he took over. The only money this category of retirees got was a half salary, and that was few days to election.

Many people that have worked all their lives, that should be resting now are running around learning trade, doing menial jobs, running errands and dieing off because they couldn't get money to take care of themselves. It's pathetic.
