The Gross UNFAIRNESS Of The World Cup by Napata77(op):
Africa is competent in soccer.

It is the grossly unfair and skewed representation at the world cup that is a problem.

Europe with 44 countries has 14 teams in Qatar.

South America with 12 countries has 6 in Qatar.

Africa with 54 countries has 5 nations in Qatar.

So Europe can have teams like Italy, Germany, Spain, Belgium, Switzerland, Denmark, Wales, Serbia, Poland, knocked out in the first or second round or not qualify at all (like Italy), but still pose a threat via Portugal, England, Holland, Croatia, etc.

Who is to say that if Africa had Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Egypt, Mali, and Algeria in Qatar, to make our representation 10 countries, that one of them would not reach semifinal or final?

In fact, personally, I do not believe that those 10 African countries can go to the world cup and not one will reach semi-final at least.

Impossible. Quote me on that.

SO YOU CANNOT CONDEMN AFRICA'S PERFORMANCE IN QATAR WITH SUCH GROSS AND EGREGIOUS UNDER-REPRESENTATION OF THE CONTINENT AT THE WORLD CUP.

That is exactly how it is bro, and we are so busy condemning ourselves that we don't realise we are being cheated on a massive scale.

FIFA isn’t hosting the World Cup for sporting integrity reasons therefore it doesn’t have to make it fair; it is a money-making venture. It’s worked out that the most money will be made by ensuring the best teams (which historically come from Europe and South America) are given a bigger chance to qualify.

As it happens, the South American slots for the World Cup are disproportionately high, even taking all of this into account. Were all teams equal (which they’re obviously not), a team in Europe has a 24% chance of reaching a World Cup. In South America, it’s 45%.

Europe: 55 teams, 13 slots (24% chance)

Africa: 54 teams, 5 slots (9% chance)

Asia: 46 teams, 4.5 slots (10% chance)

North and Central America: 35 teams, 3.5 slots (10% chance)

Oceania: 11 teams, 0.5 slots (5% chance)

South America: 10 teams, 4.5 slots (45% chance)

NO SPORTING INTEGRITY WHEN IT DOESN'T FAVOUR THEM, HUH?

If there is no 'integrity', then FIFA has no right to draw up world football rankings that are based on a baseless and faulty, corrupt foundation that's based on nothing but money.

If you base it on the footballing ability of the nations in each continent, Asia is fairly represented with 4 countries, since only two countries there have anything resembling a decent team - Japan and South Korea.

Same as Oceania, and co.

Europe has 44 real countries, not '55', which is the figure you get when you start adding places like Monaco and the Vatican, with its 1,000 population. So their percentage chance of winning is way more than 24%.

It is AFRICA that is under-represented, given the quality of its top tier sides.

You have countries in Africa like Nigeria, Ivory Coast, and Egypt, who have held their own against top teams in the world, and beaten them severally, in fact, but are sitting at home now because only 5 countries are allowed from Africa.

HOW IS THAT FAIR?

And then when a couple of African teams FROM THE PUNY NUMBER OF 5 get knocked out from the world cup, it's ''oh Africa is this'', ''oh Africa is that''.

NO, NO, NO, NO, NO, NO..... Give us FAIR REPRESENTATION, then if we fail, you can start with your anti-African criticism.

NOT BEFORE.

Bros calm down.

I get you and I don't get you.

I get you in that Africa has limited number of slots compared to other continents in the world cup. But that will change, if Fifa's plan doesnt, in 2026 when they expand to 40 teams with Africa having 2 additional slots.

I don't get you in that even if Africa had more slots in the world cup prior to this world cup, their performance wouldn't have been anything to write home about. The best any African nation has accomplished is 1/4 finalist and even at that she hasn't been consistent. (Forget number of slots here and the ratio/probability of chance)

In my humble opinion, had it been that Africa was a steady and consistent performer in the world cup, I am sure that strong cases for more slots would have been made on her behalf before now.

Talk about consistent performance...what do we have? Lets not even go far, Nigeria with all her stars can't beat ordinary Ghana to qualify. Ghana that qualified what did they do? Same thing Senegal with all the promise following their African Championship. North Africa that was building some consistency at a time with the likes of Eygpt and Algeria...wetin happen?

By the way...did you read the comment from Portugal after they played Nigeria in one of their warm up matches?

You know the NUMBER 1 problem you black Africans have?

It is racIal inferiority complex.

You are attacking Nigeria and Ghana and Senegal. You are only expert in attacking black people because you are conditioned and programmed to hate yourself. What about Italy, Germany, Serbia, Spain, Switzerland, Wales and other European sides that are nowhere to be seen? Won't you attack them?

Oh no, because they have Portugal, England, Holland, Croatia still in the mix!

OH, THAT'S BECAUSE THEY HAVE FAR HIGHER REPRESENTATION THAN YOU HAVE, SO STATISTICALLY WILL DO BETTER and last longer AT THE WORLD CUP THAN YOU.

I MEAN, LOOK AT BARE-FACED CHEATING IN YOU FACE.

Your braIns only come to life when it is a Hausa man or Fulani or Yoruba cheating you. Instantly you turn sharp, and don't tolerate any cheating.

But when Europeans cheat you, you will spend ALL DAY justifying their cheating, and lowering yourself.

WHO DID THIS TO YOU PEOPLE?

YOU AN UTTER EMBARRASSMENT TO HUMANITY.

The slavery and colonial era have passed. YET YOU STILL THINK LIKE SLAVES. WHY?

YOU ARE NOW INDEPENDENT AND FREE.

STAND UP LIKE REAL MEN AND DEMAND EQUAL TREATMENT.

TUFIAKWA!!!

DISGUSTING.

Look at his disgusting, slavish response, ''Oh I'm sure if Africa did better at the world cup, they would consider giving us more slots!'

Would that be your attitude on ANYTHING AT ALL if it was a Fulani or Hausa or any other ethnic group deciding on the level of representation?

We all know the answer to that.

TUFIAKWA.

YOU ARE ONLY MEN WHERE IT CONCERNS THOSE WHO LOOK LIKE YOU, BUT WHEN A LIGHT SKIN MAN IS THROWN IN THE MIX, YOU INSTANTLY TURN SLAVISH. FROM MAN TO MOUSE.

YOU PEOPLE ARE A DISGRACE.

Honestly, CAF is utterly useless and a disgrace.

If they had even the semblance of balls, they would have BOYCOTTED the fcking world cup until their continent gets fair representation.

We go die if we no go world cup?

Rubbish.

No way! I don't sound like YOU at all.

Your opinion is crap, and is the opinion of a slave.

Why don't you be 'civil' by demanding equal treatment?

Mr civility.

If it is Hausa-Fulani cheating you, will you be civil?

Idiots. Abeg comot for my face!

You people think and reason like slaves, and you need to snap out of it, not demand 'civility' when we tell you the disgusting truth about yourselves.

The world treats Africans like dirt because you let them, with your inferiority complex and self-loathing, and that is utterly DISGUSTING.

Black African inferiority complex is a terrible thing.

SENEGAL lost that game against England because of it.

This is a team that DOMINATED England from the first blast of the whistle. It was men against boys. They missed 3 clear chances to score. England barely touched the ball as Senegal totally outplayed them for the first 35 minutes.

Then what happens? England gets a lucky break and scores a couple of goals against the run of play.

Then what happens?

Senegal FOLDS and COLLAPSES, and the players lose all their belief and confidence, with an entire 45 minutes 2nd half left to play!

I MEAN, WHO DOES THAT? Only black African teams. The slightest questioning of them by 'oyinbo', and they collapse into fear, doubt, and inferiority complex.

If Senegal had maintained the very same momentum, confidence, and belief they began with, ignoring the 0-2 scoreline, they would have scored 4 goals against England, minimum. You can take that to the bank.

YOU DESPERATELY NEED TO SORT YOURSELVES OUT, MENTALLY.

Can you tell me what Africa are good with? No modern innovation and invention coming from Africa. World has left us behind. Africans as immigrants are in European nations. Africans are representing top European teams in the world cup. Do you see any European representing African teams in WC?.
FIFA and most international organisations were formed mostly by Europe and America. What are the contributions africa to global development in general? Nothing special. Why? Bad governance. We should stop complaining..South America are force to reckon with because of contributions of some of the players to european football. Pele. Maradona. Now messi, neymar etc. Even pepe of portugal is Brazilian. He decided to play for portugal in his earlier years.
My point is if you are useful to the world and society, you would be recognized.

Good point!

Apparently what I was trying to get across to the Op.

If you are a good performer or top at anything consistently, it will show and eventually, you will get recognised. It has nothing to do with race or racial inferiority complex. Whether African, South American, Asian, Arab, Chinese, Indian, European, North American and so on.

Outside football, look at the likes of Ngozi Okonjo Iweala as an example. The woman is African and knows here business and she is accorded that due respect on the international stage. Same thing Burna Boy, Wizkid and Davido. If you are good and consistent, it will eventually show and you will be duely recognised.

Back to football and in an effort to lend some credence to the topic of discussion, Morocco are the first African team to reach the Semi-finals! Congratulations to them. But will they be there or even go better at the next world cup (talking about consistency and not a one-off performance)?

May God give us grace till the next 4 years to find out.

Fact is quality of football in Africa is lower than in Europe. Go and watch our local leagues.

Even if you give Africa 14slots & Europe 5 slots, that will not make Africa to win the WC. If you allow only Argentina & Brazil to be representing S/America, they will still dominate the WC. So it's about Quality not Quantity.

Morocco that made it to the SF, never really dominated their matches. They were mainly defensive in their approach.
Re: The Gross UNFAIRNESS Of The World Cup by Skii(m): 2:46am On Jan 02, 2023
Not to overflog the issue but here's another reason, another angle why African Soccer is where it is regardless of number of slots in the world cup

https://www.instagram.com/reel/Cm2QraBDBSr/?igshid=Yzg5MTU1MDY=

This has nothing to do with race or colonisation.

Same thing happened to David Alaba with Nigeria. Guy ended up playing for Austria
Re: The Gross UNFAIRNESS Of The World Cup by mayor1814: 5:49am On Jan 02, 2023
Another issue plaguing Africa is Africans themselves. Corruption. We all heard about how Mbappe dad and Embolo mum complained about the corruption that happened in Cameroon that prevented their sons from representing Africa. Do you know the numbers of African stars that would have performed very well for African nations if not for the corruption.

Most of the superstars like Saka, Musiala, karim Adeyemi etc (Nigerians), Mbappe, Tchoumeni, Embolo etc ( Cameroonians), Muani ( Congo ) , Camavinga ( Angola) , Ansu fati, Upemecano, ( Guinea Bissau) and many more would have made Africa proud representing their various countries but bribery and corruption will not allow that. And this doesn't just start today.

Just imagine the likes of Desailly, Zidane, Henry, Thuram, Karembeu, etc that helped France to win the world cup in 98 had played for African teams, won't they have performed highly for their teams?
