You sound like you don't know the history of the case. If you did, you won't type what you just did. Lagos state was actually against it. They lost the case at supreme court and are being mandated by the court verdict to do so.

Although there many Yoruba Christians that have no Muslim in their lineage yet, we tolerate others because we have them as extended family members, friends and neighbors. I am a Christian as well and I have Muslim family members.
