Igbos hate Nigeria so much that they care about some Indian opinion on our leaders. How many Nigerians spend time talking about India?
Re: See What An Indian Said About Nigeria WithRespect To 2023 Election by meetme01: 6:42pm On Dec 07, 2022
Tinubu thought money will do it.

Aso rock boys/cabals are tighting all angles for large amount during the elections

Buhari is not allowed to campaign for him rather make promises for free and fair elections which Tinubu is not known for.

VP and Ministers are not allowed on campaign train. Another checkmate.

A host of APC candidates who lost primaries have failed to associate themselves with BAT

The Northerners have started playing their game.

Governors seeking term are doing eye service.

Tinubu needs to check his circle again. Meet PMB to know his stand on his Presidential ticket. Make statement that would ensure only loyalist stay behind.

Gradually, baba will lule and it will be disastrous for him.

Population of Nigeria: 220 million

Poor people in India: 42 millions or just 3% of population
Poor people in Nigeria: 80-85 millions or 35-40% of population

So if India has 42 million poor people, it has 1.36 billion (1360 million) NON Poor people while Nigeria has 140 million

Anyone who calls Nigeia = India or Nigeria > India is only becoming a fool.

For every Indian poor man in a society, Nigeria has 10. And even if we imagine for a second India would have 80 million people in poverty (equal to Nigeria), it still would be just 6% population.

India was never overtook by Nigeria as poverty capital given it wasn't one ever. It was always far better ever since I was born and has only grown faster.

Also, unlike Nigeria whose GDP capita has been artificially maintained with oil production which fills the pockets of few businessmen, India has a real industrial eco system of agriculture, heavy industries, automotives, electronics, space, aerospace, software, construction, FMCG consumption and infrastructure to support its economy.

You are simply comparing orange and apples. India was always ahead and competing with a different league of countries.

3-4% of Indians live in extreme poverty ($1.9) compared to almost half of Nigerians.

India has a good influence on US general elections along with Indians living in US. It frequently plays role in elections in its neighbouring countries like Pakistan, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
It is not a challenge if India wants to try influencing Nigerian politics although it might get shadowed by Chinese influence. India's geopolitical, economic and military power is enough to affect political landscape of entire Africa, leave alone Nigeria.

You made a lot of sense but I’d rather stay here than move to India. India is a 3rd world country that’s only developing on paper. A very large portion of its population remains ‘rural’ and live in poverty, just like Nigeria

I welcome that. It makes much more sense to stay in US or Canada where you can earn much more than India. In India, you might earn double/triple of Nigeria for doing same job, but in US, you will get 5-8 times.

Indians are not very fond of foreigners either except neighbouring countries who essentially just look like Indians.
iLoveYouToo:
India is a 3rd world country that’s only developing on paper.
A 3rd world country is who didn't align with either of West or East bloc during cold war. Yugoslavia, India, Nigeria, Vietnam and Indonesia, all are third world countries despite stark differences in levels of development.

India's progress has translated into poverty reduction, education, digitisation, faster urbanisation, advanced industries and so forth which is visible in India's business, economy, exports, consumption, technology and industry and not just paper.

As told before, you can't compare countries like India, Philippines, Indonesia and Vietnam etc. with "other third world" like Nigeria/Pakistan/Ghana etc.. India/Vietnam have stopped being destined to remain lower middle long ago and are entering upper middle group.
iLoveYouToo:

That is a flawed assumption. India has stabilised 2.1 replacement rate (equal to developed world) against world's fastest growing population of Nigeria.
Stages of development of a country start from agriculture to proto industry, heavy industry, tertiary sector and critical industries in which you can compare India with any third world country and see where it stands.

Gabon has a higher urbanisation rate than US & Canada but you can't compare their cities to water's villages.

Indian villages (except tribal areas of eastern part) AFAIK are well developed than Nigerian cities.

First reason being Indians mostly were a settled society for many centuries making towns and villages at one place while Africans were mostly tribes.
Second reason being India "defines" difference in a city & village in terms of municipal connectivity and not population density what western and African countries do. 90-95% of existing Nigerian population will become rural if Indian definition is used.

India does have modern industrial sectors, launches spacecraft, builds aircraft & warships, software while Nigeria strictly is all about primary sectors/agriculture besides its natural gift of petroleum. India's per capita income grows at 7% annually, Nigeria's population grows faster than economy. Both cases clearly are not comparable.

BY LARGE, you just can't compare Asia pacific countries to African ones. They are more like low income versions of Europe.

you indian know nothing of history. in uganda, you guys were deported as vermins in 1960s. those indian begged to stay.

as of today, you guys are still leering at africa. but you can never compete with the chinese. they are regarded as white ppl whereas you indian are a bunch of nobodies in africa.

chinese building modern industrial zones, hiring thousands of local workers. when chinese go out, they are in cars with armed policemen for their security, while, you indian and local afrian are rotting in the slums. indian in africa, if any, are small vendors. some hiring 2 or 3 local helps, some are on their own. they are living in dingy shacks, their stores are dimlit and grubby. sometimes we chinse will drive our Landcruiser to buy a basin or a toilet paper. those indian are languid, they are not used to the african weather. they look like wizards and hags, shuffling their feet, and rummaging from some black room for a roll of toilet paper. sometimes, if they trust the african, they will wave their hands listlessly giving the storeroom keys to the black help to fetch the goods. all things are from china , customized for african market , very flimsy and shoddy .

i have also seen indian sweepers, cleaners, lugguage carriers in lagos airport in nigeria. and some indian are working as a bookman for the local businessmen. that is what i know of indian in nigeria.

i dont think indian matter in Africa at all. you are ignored at best.

this is observed by me, a chinese, living in nigeria and uganda for 2 years.

china , under Xi administration, 2012, 8 T, 2022, 19 T, growth rate, 120 percent.

USA, under Obama and Trump administrations, 2010, 16 T, 2022, 25T, growth rate, 90 percent

Nigeria, under Goodluck Jhonathon and Buhari administrations, 2012, 0.4 T, 2022, 0.6 T, growth rate, 50 percent

india, under Modi administration, 2014, 2 T, 2021, 3.1T. growth rate 55 percent.

actually, you india have done a great job . after 30 years of economic reform since 1990s , you have surpassed 4 countries, pakistan, burma, kenya and Togo, given china has only surpassed 38 countries after its 40 years' reform, such as iran, argentina, turkey, mexico.....
