PDPGuy:Infantino with that his apari is just trying to discover new ways to make money. More games will bring more money. If he likes he should invite the whole world people are already tired of that corrupt fifa. Are we even supposed to be playing world cup by this time if not for collecting bribes? As from next year fifa is not going to be in collaboration with ea sports to produce fifa 2024 again because of his stupid greed. |

Ballzproblem2:Your analysis is premature. Nobody compared Tudor and Omari. I only said he (Omari) will get competition. Omari is easily 2/3 years ahead of Tudor in development. And young players will develop at different rates. G/A is not the most efficient metric for measuring boys at 16/17. |

popizaino:This is logical. Italy won the 82 Mundial and Rossi was the top scorer, scored in the final too. The scenario I'm trying to paint is simple; the game is for the winners only. There's no way Canavaro was winning player of the year in 06 if Italy did not win the world cup. Nobody will care about what Maradona did in world cup history if Argentina did not win in 86. There's a reason why Eusebio, Zico, Sucker, Baggio and even Sneijder are not really talked about in world cup terms. |

nateevs:you claimed he will give Hutchinson competition I gave you stat all of sudden it is not efficient to compare with Hutchinson?,is not musiala/Bellingham,that is Hutchinson age mate ,but Hutchinson no smell them ,guy ,the moment you bring to players together to compare , everything is valid at this point, Mendel idowu is talent but if is to give Hutchinson competition ,my guy ,you are sitting on a long fence . |

Nirvana101:You made good points but the world wasn’t stats crazy in the 90s. For instance George Weah a striker that was scoring 11 and 17 league goals would not smell WPOTY or Ballon d’Or in this current climate. Eye test won him those awards. Now people just count how many goals and assists before deciding who did well in any tournament. Eye test ti lazzident. |

andrewbaba44:Mind games you say? Are you disproving the fact that there is an illness bug in the French camp? The same illness that kept Rabiot/ Upamecano out against Morocco? Coman may not be a starter but he provides depth and an attacking threat/ option coming off the bench, especially when you consider the strength of this team is to stretch the width when they attack. . This same team lost Benzema, whom we did not replace I might add and Hernandez to tournament ending injuries. While Rabiot, Upamecano, Rabiot and now Coman/Konate/ Varane have come down with the illness.. but some how you think it’s all mind games? |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Roland17(m): 2:14am On Dec 17, 2022 |
afrodoc2:I understand Rabiot trained on Thursday and today while Coman/Konate/Varane are now isolated from the team because of the illness. I guess we have to wait until Saturday to know who is a go for Sunday. |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by afrodoc2: 2:49am On Dec 17, 2022 |
Roland17:It might have to be Upamecano and Saliba. Saliba is a like for like replacement for Varane but the problem is that he has been cold for a month. There are replacements in defence. The place where we can’t afford illness is in attack. Mbappe, Griezmann, Dembele should be wrapped in cotton wool and they should activate Benzema if he is partially fit. He should be in Doha at least just in case things get worse. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by Roland17(m): 5:01am On Dec 17, 2022 |
afrodoc2:I thought he should have started ahead of Konate against Morocco but I think Deschamps made the right decision by going with Konate considering it was a semi-final and Saliba had not seen any action. Varane has been immense for us. He brings calmness to that back 4 and if he doesn't make it on Sunday, it will bother me. Benzema I understand is not with the team in Doha and it doesn't read like Deschamps is interested in brining him back. I think there is some tension between Deschamps and Benzema because of Deschamps decision to send Benzema home after the injury. Also, like you know, Deschamps is a creature of habit and is quite rigid when it comes to player selection and tactics. We are just going to keep our fingers crossed and see who makes it past Saturday. As long as we have Tchouameni/Griezmann/ Dembele and King Mbappe we stand a chance against anyone. |

| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 6:56am On Dec 17, 2022 |
PDPGuy:Not even a fan of this 48 team format. They are watering down the quality of the competition IMO. Obviously someone can argue that we would have said the same when it was 24 teams but there's always a happy medium to be had if you ask me. You always need the right balance of exclusivity if you want the World Cup to still hold that prestige. When you turn it to free for all that's when the quality and it's selling point starts to decline. The World Cup shouldn't be an all comers affair that render qualifiers almost meaningless |
| Re: Official Chelsea Fan Thread: Club World Cup Champions 2025-2029 by A40(m): 7:04am On Dec 17, 2022 |
afrodoc2:Seems there is a bit of tension between Benzema and Deschamps. Not sure bringing him would be a good idea. Mere looking at their body language when his name is brought up it's not screaming we're missing him and sad he's not able to play so far. I think Giroud, Thuram and Muani are enough in the attack and hopefully Coman is also fine. Getting Benzema back doesn't guarantee anything The worry is in defense. A Saliba or Upamecano against tricky players like Messi and Alvarez is recipe for disaster. I'm not under any illusions that these refs will not blow PK at the slightest fvck up by France. They've given away 3 already and Argentina has won 4. So that's something to look out for |
