GeneralDae:Leadership and progress will always have an arrowhead. There must always be a leader ready to throw himself into the breach for others to follow and be up and doing. Those governors left to their own devices would just loot their states dry. |

GeneralDae:I know but maybe if the president is seen to be serious, the governors might take a page out of his playbook. I just don't like this Buhari guy. He's too lenient with the herdmen and bandits, and he is completely flustered by economic data and their importance. |

Kenya has never stopped assembling cars. That is why we have one of SSA matured industries. In fact in 1980s - we took a bold step - and build our own car - but it died. The Numerical Complex plant still remain one of largest in kenya Moi had a vision for kenya car - Nyayo car - inspired by Singapore Proton in 1975. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=086qdyNtHWo https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dz-i5jm2wFA Just30: |

Obaaderemi2:He is lenient but if the local Governments are reformed and the Governors do their job, you quell village tensions and crises before they get bigger and begin to attract sponsorship/arms from within and outside. On a normal day, local Government vigilantes would normally nip these things in the bud at their infant stages when they are yet to make news on a broader scale in the country. Buhari of course is also to be blamed, but Nigerians put too much focus on the president and do not even care about their Local Council Chairmen and allow their Governors get away with much. No matter what your favourite president does, this anomaly has to be corrected greatly. |

rvp2018:Kenya has never had .... I won't call 3,000 production and 5,000 new cars purchased a vibrant MV industry From the 60s to the 80s or 90s, almost 90% of vehicles used in Ghana assemble here. |

Kenya vibrant MV industry start from body building for buses, truck, trailers, motor cycles, spare parts before we even get CKD and FBU - and most are export to the Eastern Africa region. Try compare Ghana with Uganda. Not kenya. Just30:

When it come to MV spares - kenya manufacture thing like oil filters and bla bla for like 10 countries all the way down to Zambia. Batteries recently landed in Ghana Kenya has very many building blocks to build a successful MV industry. Few more things We started banning any vehicle longer than 7 feet from being imported as second hand. Most used spare parts are already banned in kenya. Kenya MV just need to finally ban used cars - and vroom to 150,000 cars and a million motor cyles.

rvp2018:Most of our assemblers are doing CKD and are mostly for the Ghanaian market until they are done with their expansion to a combine utilisation capacity of 60,000 as both local and export demand keep increasing. Those other things are massively done by fabrication companies all over Tema and Takoradi |

They are banned from this year though I think some folks went to court. Buses and Trucks can no longer be imported as used. “Kebs wishes to inform all stakeholders and the general public that effective July 1, 2022, all used passenger minibuses, midibuses, large buses, single articulated and bi-articulated business and double-decker buses shall not be allowed for importation into the country,” said Kebs adding that the move comes after the ... This shot in the arm of assemblers - they are going to get huge chunk of the market. And now that we got our own steel manufacturing plant - though quality still an issue I hear - we might be on start. We import almost 600M dollars worth of steel from South Africa - the major import from them - but with Devki steel turning iron ore to steel billet we are making baby steps. NTSA: |
