GeneralDae:
He is lenient but if the local Governments are reformed and the Governors do their job, you quell village tensions and crises before they get bigger and begin to attract sponsorship/arms from within and outside.

On a normal day, local Government vigilantes would normally nip these things in the bud at their infant stages when they are yet to make news on a broader scale in the country.

Buhari of course is also to be blamed, but Nigerians put too much focus on the president and do not even care about their Local Council Chairmen and allow their Governors get away with much.

No matter what your favourite president does, this anomaly has to be corrected greatly.
The governors especially are very useless people. Although I don't think they can do much about herdsmen and bandit issues. Those people operate with so much brazenness you will know they've got support from high places.

But I don't understand why governors and local government leaders can do much about food production and basic amenities like artery roads, water supply and better schools.

But to be honest, it is sobering when one considers the amateurism with which Buhari has managed the economy, the currency controls and the messy exchange rates. He didn't lead like there was a lot at stake.

The future is actually motorcyle - Veitnam export 12B dollars worth of them. I hope we focus there and EV. For employment - we need heavy steel industry.

So I would say 1) spare parts 2) motor cycles 3) EV for cars & buses and 4) heavy passenger and goods vehicles. We have established the foundation for all these - we just need accelerate the next 5yrs.

Bankrupt Ghana - pay debt first. Nobody will invest in a bankrupt country.

Rant of an ignoramus.... Motorcycles are left for poor people from bankrupt nations like Kenya who have no option but

Kenya is too poor such that it has to rely on such backwardness.

If everyone where to use motorcycle, I'm not sure you'll have a place to step

Ghana you should start assembling motor bikes first.
Then try to assemble cars.
It will be some years before you manufacture car.
Leave Kanatraka nonsense.

How much is local component? Seem the industry on average at 30%.

The auto industry—South Africa’s largest manufacturing sector—is a major employer at its assembly plants, and through suppliers of goods and services required by global vehicle manufacturers. Yet today local content accounts on average for about one-third of each vehicle produced in South Africa. IFC estimates that raising that share of local content to 45 percent could inject $4 billion into the local economy and support 80,000 more jobs over the next three years.

Most people buying motor bikes and bicycles are in developed world - where highways are giving way to bicycle lanes.
