As much as I don't like meddling in nairaland affairs, it is important to correct certain impressions so wrong knowledge is not passed down.
Every contract is required to have 3 elements; an offer, an acceptance and a consideration. The presence of these makes it binding and enforceable!
In this case, there was an offer, there was an acceptance (whether grudgingly or not) and a consideration (which here was the full payment of the agreed sum), so automatically the contract became binding whether written or not and is enforceable. In real terms, if gazzuzz was to pursue the legal route, he would be suing for repossession and wrongful sale of his property-YES, HIS PROPERTY!!!

I quoted you because of the bolded. He does not really need the receipt provided he can establish his offer was accepted and evidence that he made payment (which doesn't even need to be in full to be considered as a consideration. That it was in full, even makes it easier.)

People get away with a lot of things here and need to begin to understand the implications of their actions. My 2 cents

This is the problem I have with stockpiling. It gives the seller the opportunity to change his or her mind or the goods could get damaged. But you should know buyer only left it with you out of trust. You were with the TV and the money. That is trust. You don’t break it. Let’s forget the legal perspective.

Do you know it would have made more sense if you refunded back the money immediately you recieved it? That would have cleared all iota of doubt on character defect. But no, you received "grudgingly" what was agreed as full value and then took another offer. That erodes any excuse you may think you have. Now you are coming up with a momentary moment of weakness angle......bro, I fear who no fear you o! Some people I know would have used you to do practicals if you attempt this with them, even if it would cost them more than the amount involved.

Just learn that there are consequences for actions and do better next time by turning down the offer ab initio or counter it. Life is a learning curve so stop forming streetwise where you are wrong. No beef. My 2 cents

I have had a seller do this thing to me and it pained me A LOT.

I have also had a situation where my friend was about leaving the country and she desperately sold some of her properties to an IG vendor. There was this particular item the vendor added a whooping 70k and it sold out. My friend was in pains for months.

So I understand you from a human perspective, but business is business. You should apologise, not taunt your repeat customer.
