rvp20182:so I just read, if you want to become an external auditor in Kenya you also need to complete all ASA exams as well as 2 years experience if you are already hold a ICPAK Practising Certificate.... 3 years if you don't. The above seems to be the equivalent of a CA in South Africa. I see now where the confusion came |

jl115:yes..it supposed to professional course but in Kenya it taken as vocational skill...many CPA in our time were 20 yr olds.So it's not considered special...maybe CFAs are hard to get..but CPAs are offered in backstreet |

rvp20182:CFA is relatively hard but imo CA is much harder although I prefer a CFA since its in line with what i do for a living.... I'm contemplating doing my CFA next year since I've already completed my 3 year work experience in investment management. |

Just30:Classic example of what ails Ghana... deny deny like it will make you less bankrupted... everyone in world and their grandmother knows Ghana recently declared bankruptcy. But you're unable even to process that because of your stunted politics and that it why apart from brief period when Jerry Rawlings had to literally beat sense into you thickness you don't get it.Everyone Knows is bankrupt.only another half Ghanaian half Scottish can drill sense into you thickness .. otherwise in your alternative universe Kenya is bankrupt and Ghana is happily paying it's debts |

kkins25:Anyway I don't really visit kitchen as much but from the general knowledge, gas is way much cheaper than electricity. And can be easily regulated. I.e the amount of heat can be controlled …just by looking at the flame, you can easily adjust it and it will consume less amount of heat in which it will result in Longer use. Even on a technical note , Ghana electricity is mostly generated by natural gas . |

Classic deny and deflect. Kenya has not come out sweating on sunday to announce it cant and wont pay debt. Kenya is ranked B - Ghana is ranked D - defaulted. By the time you emptied the forex and suspended debt repayment - that includes anything on sovereign wealth. Just30: |

Copied from another kenyan Ghana mess. "Very true but their President also over borrowed domestically and abroad taking away all credit from businesses. Tax collection stalled and they struggled to offset Forex demands inflows Vs outflows. Reminds you of our previous administration. They took too long - 3 years to even acknowledge the problem. They could have rescued themselves in 2020 during COVID period by adjusting fiscal policy to new realities but they instead continued unabated." |

rvp2018:sweating looks like taking budget support from IMF cause you have nowhere else to go... Casting your insecurities on us has never helped you. As far as everyone knows, Ghana is paying it debt and has budgeted 3.5 million for debt due next year. Kenya is the only country that has defaulted on 4 separate debt payment causing China to fine your country. Fact is, Ghana forex has increased to 9 billion and Kenya has drained hers to 6 billion.. Ghana's SWF are growing in value and Kenya does not have any. Your president is asking Kenyans to contribute money so he can forfill to help his wife the bet he lost...have you sent yours? |

1) Kenya has had no problem and has no problem with paying off China debt. The reason Railway Development Fund - 1.5% of any import to kenya is levied RDL - that annually. RDL since 2013 has raised 1.5B dollars. China requires annually 80M dollars - RDL alone - raises 1.5% of 20B dollars - which is 300M dollars annually. 2019 https://www.theeastafrican.co.ke/tea/business/kenya-s-railway-levy-to-rise-by-30pc-but-where-does-the-money-go--1421034 "Conservative estimates show that since 2013, the RDL has generated a staggering $920 million based on the rate of growth in the value of imports, which increased from $13.2 billion in 2012 to $17 billion last year according to Kenya National Bureau of Statistics data." 2) China is preparing to lend kenya more money for Railway - feasibilities studies for extension are complete - and China will sign it off early next year. 3) Ghana cannot borrow in next decade anywhere outside IMF/WB/AFDB. It definitely cannot borrow from Eurobond or domestic market until it's investment grade - somewhere in 2040. Even kenya now cannot borrow. It has to repair it rating to investment grade. You must be rated above above BBB- or Baa to be investment worthy - meaning you can borrow. Junk like Ghana needs two decades or more to get back there. Just30: |

I gave you a link to your own audited soverign wealth - and you're rebutting with generic description. Where are your funds invested in. US treasury bills and bonds? Or Ghana I know you thought they were cash sitting somewhere - where you can use it to pay debt. Never mind they are also empty - having been drawn down regularly. If you add all of them - they are not even a billion dollars ![]() Just30: |

Yes China caused COVID and we will ask them to extend the repayment for railway from 30yrs to 50yrs. If they refuse - we will pay. Debt must be repaid. That minister was my college friend - and was recently with China ambassador - nailing the next stage of the railway funding. Kenya and Uganda are preparing to sign two big railway loans from China now. Just30:
