What do you think could be responsible for why SA don't produce as many quality footballers as they did in the 1990s?

Also what's up with the Proteas? Watched them get a serious shellacking from the Aussies down under.

jl115:
definitely!!! Rugby and Cricket seem to be over taking soccer in Xhosa communities.

Two reasons
1) Not many Talented players and
2) Interest
But their ladies are very good in football

States also increased budgets across too. If we add all 36 states plus FCT, we are talking 60-70 Billion dollars or more. Lagos has a budget of 4 Billion dollars and about 3-4 other states I heard of had budgets over 1 Billion dollars this time. Some others around 250-500 million dollars.
Kaduna State budget is almost 900 million dollars, and about 70 percent will go into capital expanditure this time.

Oyo State's budget is about $400m if I use black market rates. 49.7% is for capital expenditure, education at 18% gets the second highest allocation.

Black market rates are never quoted officially or internationally I think especially in matters like this.

Wow, it's exciting seeing states in Nigeria doing the needful these days. I am sure these figures would increase next year.

The next governments need to keep the great work going.

Lol, to be be honest, Nigeria I far ahead of Kenya.

Forget the Nairobi hype, if we analyse things critically, you would realize both countries have different growth/development pattern.

Personally, I prefer the Nigerian pattern of growth because it is widespread (which can be attributed to our diversity). Only a few countries like Egypt and SA (I think) run the same pattern of growth as Nigeria.

While countries like Kenya are only focused on one, two or three cities, leaving the remaining country undeveloped.

- South Africa doesn't have an environment which is conducive for dairy cattle, we have a lot of diseases and low waterfall and cattle need to be resistant to that, unfortunately dairy cattle are soft hence why SA has never been a large dairy producing country. Avocado's need a lot of water... Thus again only a few farmers grow them... Kenya in general is wetter than SA so no surprise you are growing more avocado's.

- Some black South Africans have formed partnerships and are doing very well for themselves

- I never said Boere are the only ones that can farm Commercially.... What I said was a great number more Boere want to be commercial farmers than Black South Africans... My grandfather had a commercial dairy farm, its a sh1t job, so much so that not one of his sons decided to carry on with it and he sold his farm.
Lame excuse...South Africa was ahead in many things and we heard Africans can't farm..Kenya smallholders farming is working..so is Ghana and ivory Coast. But seeing how the slumdog enjoy the Boer slavery and seeing how he is killing Africa immigrants...I think we leave them to their folly. The reality in those farms..its blacks who do the donkey work like US & LATAM slave plantations. Then slumdog turn around to claim...he can't farm..yet he is the farm hand. You have one Boer owning thousands of acres with village of modern willing African farm slaves...who apparently can't farm.

Budget and GDP are figures you can cook .They are estimates. They are at best guesstimate of how big economy is and how ambitious you want to spend.Nigeria I guess being election year they are going crazy on you with wild projections. What are Nigeria revenue's at federal and state this 2022..how is the current budget performing..projected versus actual. NOT EVERY COUNTRY IS A ZOO LIKE NIGERIA where you promise to double spending..when currently debt services takes all the money..lecturers went on a year long strike..pensions remain unpaid..salaries I doubt is upto date..your country should be halving the budget..not doubling

As for football we've been fvcked by the incompetence wrt the running of SAFA

Cricket we just in a rebuilding fase, everyone is quick to blame politics and incompetence of CSA for our poor performances but the reality is we just don't have the quality of players we used to, we have a couple of good youngsters coming through and our bowling attack is still the best in the world imo.... Also I've played against a lot of the current Proteas (Markram, Pretorius, Van der Dussen, Malan, Ngidi, Olivier ect ect) at club level, our talent now just ain't that good currently but we will be at the top again in 4-5 year's

East meets West: Ghana and Kenya link their stock markets to boost … – Garowe Online

NAIROBI, Kenya – In a bid to tap into the African continental growth both Kenya and Ghana have linked their stock/securities exchange allowing the cross-trading of equities and bonds from the pair of jurisdictions.

This new linkage of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has been facilitated by SecondSTAX, a fintech that seeks to interlink African Capital Markets.

Through this new portal investors from both countries will be able to trade from either party with long-term plans set to see the inclusion of retail investors.

Geoffrey Odundo -NSE Chief Executive Officer has termed the new move as key to propelling market liquidity and trading growth as well as options to investors in Kenya and Ghana.

“These linkages are good as they will create a bigger market in Africa and will allow cross-border trading. Investors in Ghana who want to trade in Kenya will have a straight-through process,” Odundo said.

Krestel Capital -a stock brokerage firm has been chosen to support trade orders from the Kenyan side.

The new linkage comes ahead of the implementation of the Africa Exchanges Linkages Project (AELP) which is set to go live on December 7.

The linkage program is set to bring together notable exchanges on the continent including the NSE, Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Nigerian Stock Exchange, Stock Exchange of Mauritius, Egyptian Exchange, and the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

The program also features the Bourse Regionale des Valeurs Mobilieres which brings together exchanges in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

The project is a joint initiative of the African Securities Exchanges Association (ASEA) and the African Development Bank (AfDB).
Meanwhile, neighboring Rwanda, Uganda, and Tanzania are set to link their stock exchanges in a World Bank-funded project which will see the three operate a single market.

the world can always be more fair I agree, however there is no slavery in SA, by your definition there should then be more slavery in Kenya since you earn half of what black SAns earn and Kenya's minimum wage is half that of SA.

I don't need more than first entry of Google search for you Zoo.How did your 2021 or 2022..actual vs projection pan out.You always make ridiculous projections but your total revenues including all states is ridiculous.Nigeria is an obvious zoo.Its now has world worst gdp to revenues ratio..something 5.5 percent

No Boer is getting kicked

Our economic make up is different,

Kenya workforce 80% is in agriculture, that's totally different to South Africa workforce.

They still earn less than half than their SAn counter parts, they are more than twice as likely to live in poverty.... How is this dignified?
