Average time spent in your traffic is 4-6hours. That is half a day of work in most cities. I bet some even spend 4hours in morning and another 4 hours in evening to get home. That a whole day of productive work.

So imagine generally you're losing half your GDP stuck in traffic. If China was to build toll roads and charge a little money to recoup their investment and make a small profit - you'd be far ahead. This new linkage of the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) and the Ghana Stock Exchange (GSE) has been facilitated by SecondSTAX, a fintech that seeks to interlink African Capital Markets.

Through this new portal investors from both countries will be able to trade from either party with long-term plans set to see the inclusion of retail investors.

Geoffrey Odundo -NSE Chief Executive Officer has termed the new move as key to propelling market liquidity and trading growth as well as options to investors in Kenya and Ghana.

“These linkages are good as they will create a bigger market in Africa and will allow cross-border trading. Investors in Ghana who want to trade in Kenya will have a straight-through process,” Odundo said.

Krestel Capital -a stock brokerage firm has been chosen to support trade orders from the Kenyan side.

The new linkage comes ahead of the implementation of the Africa Exchanges Linkages Project (AELP) which is set to go live on December 7.

The linkage program is set to bring together notable exchanges on the continent including the NSE, Johannesburg Stock Exchange (JSE), Nigerian Stock Exchange, Stock Exchange of Mauritius, Egyptian Exchange, and the Casablanca Stock Exchange.

The program also features the Bourse Regionale des Valeurs Mobilieres which brings together exchanges in Benin, Burkina Faso, Cote d’Ivoire, Guinea Bissau, Mali, Niger, Senegal, and Togo.

My boarding school experience still remain the best so far in my life . Too much fucking freedom in university. Imagined, doing something illegally and knowing well when caught you will be disciplined yet you still find some crazy moment to do it. You got some alias name based on your characters. This started in early 1990s as the SAP/Population/Sanctions dried up jobs - for the employed - and it became very tough to get a job. It wasnt until late 1990s that kenyan started to figure out immigration as options - which west africans have.

From 1990s - kenya schooling system became cutthroat competition like India and China.

Kids can barely sleep. It worse than prisons. In fact, most school disallow games and name it for final year students - kids barely sleep for 5yrs - and they snap.

Most kids are taken through that worse than prison school systems from grade 4 - and by high school - they hate schools - by university almost every kenyan kid hates education. University is only time kenya kids are finally free - and the last thing they want to do - is read another book - they now want drink and do all stuff they didnt do growing up.

I clearly said the obsession with exams not wholesome education is responsible chiefly for schools' unrest and of course boarding system on its own need to be reduced. Kenya has world highest boarding school kids' ratio - and all these unrests are signs of a broken system.

All these issues have been studied in length and kanya is now on it's 10th year on the new system that has done away with "final" exam for continuous assessment.

The new education system also provides non-academic pathway early for kids who are gifted elsewhere in sports, crafts and leaving only the few who are interested in academic to proceed.

The verdict of new system will be known soon - maybe a decade - will kenya end up with happy fools like Ghana or South Africa - or smart happy kids like say in Finland.

2) You can only compare kenya education system with another country. You cannot compare kenya exams with kenya. It's kenyans who set the exams and mark them. Kenya gov decided in 2015 to discourage university education and go for TIVET. Therefore kenyan exams are now pretty tough and there is no normalization or standardization.

3) Trust me if kenya sat that useless WASCE or whatever - they would beat West African by 10 miles. That stupid ROTE learning exams was last seen in kenya maybe in 1980s. Kenya exams are very analytical. Try to find online - compare say WASCE biology paper and kenya form 4 - grade 12 - exams and see the difference. Almost every question is set in a way that require THINKING - not just naming 10 things or twenthy crap.

4) Kenya teachers have been assessed - they scored 99% of the exams the kids for - waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay above any in Africa. Most in Africa - teachers score imagine even 60% of the exams meant for kids.

students having to go to school at 4.30am and close at 9.30pm just shows how poor Kenyan kids are at education such that despite the sacrifices of teachers by putting in extra hours still turn to yield terrible results.

If you see their final year results, you'll feel sorry for them. Kenyan parents shirk their duties and expect the school to right everything that's wrong with their kids. The parents on their own parts don't know much as is displayed here by many of the kenyans.

You can't absorb yourself of the education of your child and put the responsibility solely on teachers and expect different results.

students having to go to school at 4.30am and close at 9.30pm just shows how poor Kenyan kids are at education such that despite the sacrifices of teachers by putting in extra hours still turn to yield terrible results.
This shows that parents are not involved in their kids education

Just look at that. How can such a society produce normal children? From 4:30am to 9:30pm! And you wonder why boys are attacking female hostels.

The parents are derelict, busy riding motorcycles to be involved in children's education. I can only compare them to people in some parts of northern Nigeria.
