That's basically an indictment on our educational sector as a core English speaking nation!... I'm surprised that no Education minister has for once taken it up with them!

Them again... It's not just IELTS milking the Japa system!

Other establishments are doing theirs too.

Even schools increased fees for Transcripts...

Heard from a friend that Pharmacist Council increased their fee for letter of good standing (an application requirement) for migrating Pharmacists from 35k to 100k!

While influentials from SE believe in petition and reporting individuals and institution to international community. This is what my people from the WEST is good at.

That is even good. If you pass the exam, after 2years the result expires. You will now need to write another IELTS to prove that you can speak English. As far as they are concerned, your ability to speak English only lasts for 2years

We are an Anglophone country, and English is our lingual Franca; why the test of English again

This man is the Man Of The Year 2022!
Why should Britain,Canada,etc be subjecting Nigerians to another English testing,when they know that Nigeria is 100% English Speaking People?
This is the kind of Nonsense they will not take for their own Citizens because they have been benefiting from it for so long!

Nice one. More Nigerians need to speak up on this issue so other Foreign Universities can follow suit. Because I find it absolutely ridiculous that schools outside Nigeria demand IELTS from applicants from a country whose official and number 1 Language is English... Matter of fact, most Nigerians even speak better English than most of these Western English speaking countries...

How does the screenshot you shared confirm what you said that folks from the US and UK need IELTS to get into Canada?

Old story from 2022 if not 2021. They later reversed the decision. IELTS is still mandatory.

This reminded me of my friend, that said his school want proof of English language after he was offered admission to study in undergrad course in DCU, Ireland.

He said he replied them, that he as been speaking English for 25 years of his life and before he applied for admission, he as been living in the UK and Ireland for total of 4 years.

The school just removed the English language requirement quickly.
