when i was young in naija about 14 years old there was a friend of mine his dad owned a bank on allen avenue ikeja. the dad keeps money in the house. the guy would move like 200k back when money had value ooo and would lodge at expensive hotel for a month and be firing babes and chopping life. memories. eat expensive food and drink cocktails.

point being 14 year old boys have been getting money forever. in fact the most potent money getters are between the ages of 14 to 22.

Just about a week ago, I went to pick up some stuffs from one of my favourite Eateries here and some young boys came in, boys between the ages 14 -18 I guess.

These boys brought all kind of stuffs to the cashier's table worth some thousands of naira, I had to look at them again and again, the way they dressed, their manner and their looks didn't suggest boys from a rich home. Only them know where they got such money from......

The society is something else now and we all have to be very careful.

1. There's nothing much to be perplexed about. We are in a world that celebrates mediocrity, hedonism, incompetence nonchalance, and other forms of depraved behavior.

2. If the foundation is weak, how can the roof stand? The kids can't stand because they don't have a foundation and a strong root system that can guard them in true light and beauty. Supposed foundations are absent or negligent parents, weak relatives, and a feeble community.

3. These kids see on social media and their environment the way belligerent people are being lauded and protected. So, one can't expect a different scenario with them.

4. Since accountability doesn't count, why should they be accountable?

Since obligations don't matter, why should they take responsibility?

Since integrity doesn't matter, why should they pursue truth?

Violence in its shades and subtlety are poorly addressed, criminals stroll into jail and are out before the dawn of a new day. So, why expect them not to mimic them?

5. We're always defending our sides when we are benefiting from the depraved system. We only choose to blink our eyes when we start losing or can't take a tincture of our medicine. Humans are hypocrites!

6. The decay shall continue until there's a concatenation of good men and women, young boys and girls who will act as a bulwark to the further decline of society and force to work those who are not ready to free their hands of their devices and make society work.
And if they fail to comply, they get thrown out through the window. Yes. There must always be a group of people that will pay the price for the positive and negative ends for the greater communal good.
