garfield1:Olodo... The law Said , 25% in 24 states.... South east has just 5 states ... The most important yardstick to win an election in republic nation as nigeria is not by majority votes but by law... Peter obi has 12 states in the south already... And he need 12 more states in the northern part before he can be thinking of majority VOTES.... If obi has 15m votes and fail to meet the law and tinubu has 12m vote and meet the two third required law ... Then tinubu will be declared as the winner... February 25 is not far ... Remember , the Total registered votes in the east are 8.8m .. The total registered votes in the west are 16.2m SOUTH SOUTH 10.6m Northwest 20m North Central 11m North East 13m Labour party is not a national party... The majority stakeholders in the party now are from southeast... It is now more regional than before... APC and PDP are national Party with structures...these 2 structured parties are capable to meet the law requirements votes... So obidients , work on dis and leave TINUBU alone |

It is obvious some people don't understand politics of the Southwest. The westerners are more inclined to the north due to the comprehension of politics in the North, the reason Tinubu has been craving for Northerners support. Asking if Tinubu would get 70% is a joke because most elections in south west are won in the Key Local governments and if you can name any local government in the south west without Tinubu support, then you might say Tinubu would loose the LG. Only Lagos would give Peter Obi some votes, every other states are locked down for Tinubu, the reason the campaign in SW hasn't been aggressive as compared to the north. Try and study election results in the past to know the trend. And with the division of Atiku, Kwankwaso, Obi and Wike and G5 playing Aces, I am even tempted to say he would get close to 80% of southwest votes. |

| Re: Can Tinubu Get 70% Or More From South West? by CutieKing: 1:18am On Jan 04, 2023 |
Not sure but I think 60% is very feasible. Remember pdp is also strong in the south west too. |
| Re: Can Tinubu Get 70% Or More From South West? by CutieKing: 1:23am On Jan 04, 2023 |
Larryhoover:Obi WILL NOT get 25% in 24 states.. That's for sure but both apc and pdp are national parties with spread to get 25% in more than 24 states. Reason I keep insisting that the election is still between pdp and apc. |

garfield1:I hear you but please, exclude the elites that you engage in Lagos because the truth is that most might not be in the country on the day of election. But if I may ask you to engage real voters e.g in Alimosho of Lagos, Ibadan SW of Oyo, Sagamu of Ogun, Oshogbo LG and others, you would understand where their fidelity stands. That is why they are saying politics is local and very dirty at the local level. And saying all Igbos are supporting Obi, I beg to differ, aside the Igbo youths and some lightweight Igbo politicians, I am not sure I have seen any heavyweight Igbo politician canvassing for Obi. And don’t forget political structure is the channel towards election success. |

It is actually the draconian attitude of the Igbos that'll force the hands of the anti-Tinubu's Yoruba to vote for Tinubu. You can't appraised your own and tell me to my face that mine is condemned. Some of us that were rooting for Osinbajo and were disgruntled about Tinubu's emergence has to retraced our steps to support BAT cos of the hypocrisy of the Igbos. Tinubu is and will enjoy sympathy support/votes across board courtesy of the unwarranted hatred and insult from the SE. Even in the north albeit Buhari's body language, we Buharist has embraced BAT out of his unwavering support for our Boss & the unwholesome blackmail against him from the usual embittered species. We'll counter any advantage Obi will have in the SS,SE and part of NC with votes from NW and NE. Then Tinubu's advantage in Niger, Kwara, Kogi and 5 states in the SW will give him the landslide. |

garfield1:When you stop following their noise online, you'll see that Obi has absolute no presence in SW except Lagos. From Ogun to Oyo,Osun, Ondo and lastly Ekiti, you can barely notice anything about LP. If I tell you what's brewing underground in SW,you'll be shocked. Tinubu may not get up to 70% but it will be very very close. No noise, but wait till 25th |

garfield1:I say 65% is likely. That's becos he can't get more than 60% in Lagos which would reduce his margins in the zone |

OKOATA:The Yoruba follow ethnic line before religion. There is no basis to begin to see Tinubu as a religious jingoist, he was governor of Lagos and Fashola after him have both been open people. Many of you attach a lot of hope and expectations to certain creeds that do not move the needle politically. You need to understand key factors across geopolitical zones. For the Southwest it is first ethnicity then money. Religion has never been a key campaign issues here so that you don't think someone rigged your candidate out of winning in February. I believe Tinubu will win at least 70% in Lagos and up to 95% of votes cast in Ekiti and above 80% in other states of the Southwest. Yoruba have one candidate in this election and whether you accept it or not, religion is not even one of the criteria to analyze him. |

Ask anyone anywhere in who stays in Southwest, there's no Obi impact anywhere in Southwest west aside Lagos and Twitter. I traveled to South West recently and I was surprised at what I saw. He's not known garfield1: |

mandarin:Yorubas follow ethnic line but they aren't daft. SW is a multi religious domain, Christians 45%, Muslim 40%. If SW doesn't follow religion why's CAN not supporting Tinubu? How many churches in SW have openly come out to support him? No dey give yourself false hope and stop assuming all SW people are dumb. Even Kwara state won't give Tinubu 90%. Ekiti isn't a Muslim state, Lagos isn't a Muslim state, other state in SW isn't a Muslim state so how will Tinubu get those figures you are mentioning. You assume everyone in SW is daft like you urchins ba. Una dey make me laugh. So Christians will leave Obi and vote a M/M killer ticket. Keep dreaming bros. |

garfield1:You've never written like it. You write with self-doubt, lack of conviction and fear always. You remind me of geeks, like Seun the owner of Nairaland, who labour over statistics and permutations all day, and are slaves to it, whereas leaders and 'okunrin meta' character simply come in to do their domineering. You should not be mentioning Obi. He is no threat to Tinubu. Neither is Atiku. The election will prove that to you. Look below where supporters of Tinubu, of weaker disposition, disappeared because of fear of Buhari and the thinking Tinubu had chewed of more than he can bite. It was the likes of myself who made it crystal that Tinubu is not in a fight on his own. We are with him because no Fulani, due to control of political office, is greater than the Yorubas and where we want to go as a people. Election changes nothing. Yorubas are no longer compromising per what we want out of Nigeria moving forward. Some of you forget that Politics is just a platform to lead societies into progress and not a stage to create demi-gods, like Buhari, some Nigerians make political leaders to be. Honarable mention to the likes of Akanbiedu, Plaindealer, Indispensable85 who stood gidiba while many 'only in good times' Tinubu supporters (they know themselves) hid or even joined Tinubu's enemies, like coward, to proclaim Jagaban was finished merely because Tinubu stood up to say no man, including Buhari, is his God or that of Nigerians. Who is Buhari or Fulanis to think they owns us all? https://www.nairaland.com/7159115/tinubu-ready-fight-he-started/4 Dsalvo: Akanbiedu: plaindealer: Indispensable85: |

Indispensable85:You too bro. I especially love the fearless quote from you below at a time when many, I won't mention their names, ran to hide because some Northerners were claiming Tinubu insulted Buhari their God and Jagaban is therefore "finished", along with our "dreams" of Yoruba Presidency, for daring to stand up to Buhari. These guys should be reminded where they're coming from. They've forgotten those who made them to be enjoying the office they occupy today. What incredible arrogance from the North that can only come from encouragement they gain from the slavishness of some Southerners. Are we same as Northerners to be beholden to their rules and their hero worship of flawed mortals who will die? Mandela, great as he is, did not die? What of Awolowo, Nkrumah, Sankara etal or even Winston Churchill? Buhari is a God today, able to make and break the future of Tinubu and a universally acclaimed ethnic group like the Yorubas, yet he could not win an election in three attempt, even against Jonathan, till Tinubu assisted him? As I have always insisted, I am waiting for Atiku to win and then rule, as President, over Yoruba elected leaders who were already fighting their own President Buhari to grant them regional governance so we all go our ways. North, if they want to pay back Yoruba loyalty with treachery, will learn that the last people they want to unite over an issue of fundamental injustice is Yorubas. As you asked, who paved the way for the Presidency the North is enjoying today? Is it by their power alone? Nigeria is changing and Yorubas will never carry last.
