Owerri is the finest city in the SE for sure, arguably the South minus parts of Lagos if you want to count that.

You seem to see that for many sheepish people of Imo state, once Owerri is fine and developing, any other place in Imo state can go to hell. They inculcate the attitude into every state governor.
Years of that after, no other Imo town, not the now lost cities - Okigwe and Orlu - are worth the mention in Imo state.

It's 46 years since Imo state was created.
This Owerri is a city that expanded by usurping (stealing) the development funds that would have gone to build infrastructures in Orlu and Okigwe since 1976, yet it's like this. Successive govs of Imo state, expect one, none came from Orlu or Okigwe. So they would abandon Orlu and Okigwe to rot till today, put the devt funds in expanding urban infrastructures in Owerri, or pocket the funds.
