I believe that happened after he became a suspect. BVN should be able to trigger an alert when one man starts having too many accounts.

BVN does not stop you from having multiple accounts, I believe you too also have more than one account linked to your yours. BVN only make it easy to trace all your accounts when you are being investigated.

I don't understand the kind of journalism we practice in Nigeria. If NDLEA is freezing someone's account, shouldnt the media be questioning the right NDLEA has to do so rather than just reporting what they did.

Soon, neighborhood watches and Vigilantes will start freezing people's account too if we don't tame the excesses of all these government agencies.

4 or 5 accounts is different from 20 accounts. There should be a threshold that BVN triggers an alert.

Exactly my point! But you know government agencies and their intimidation tactics. They will just do things as if it's in their power to do so. They don't wait for court orders and even when court give orders it's what they want to do that they will do.

My concern is even the newspaper media that's the 4th realm of governance that suppose to be questioning their rights just turn to a mere "see and reporting" system and consequently reinforcing the abnormalities in our governance structure.

I used to have 4 bank Accts with diamond bank and 2 with Access bank. Now I have 6 bank accounts with Access bank after buying diamond bank but only 2 is in active use.

Owning it is not what I'm talking about, 126 accounts, how does a person spread his money like that. That's a job to just go through all your accounts. In the end, everything was discovered. What a waste.

Stop sounding confused Sir. That was after he became a suspect. I am talking about BVN being used to initiate the suspicion process if the person has too many accounts. It does not have to be an NDLEA or EFCC initiated suspicion. Once a BVN user has above 12 accounts and uses them often enough, a flag should alert authorities for investigating who that individual is and what he does for a living.
