Shaytun:it is not Afrobeats is the umbrella therm which has Afrobeat, Afro Swing, Afro pop, highlife, palm wine music, and all other African music under it. The media refered to To all African music that made it big as African popular music under the general term Afrobeats. Afro pop is a genre on it own that is comparable to soul music and sometimes people confused it for an African form of jazz and urban music. Don't confuse it with the term popular music that is used for all music that are commercial. It is very different There's nothing like Banku music as much as he want to describe it as that.... Those who know music and can hear the chords, electric instrument, beats, tempo, flow and lyrics describes his music as pure Afro-pop music |

Just30:What are you talking about? Afro Pop is not a specific type of sound, it just refers to popular music from Africa, it’s not a genre on its own. How can you claim juls on it created Afro pop when the term has already been in existence even before he was born. Did he create it in heaven? Afro pop was created by the western media to label all popular music coming out of Africa. Afrobeats is not an umbrella term, it’s a musical genre that came about when you fuse different sounds with Afrobeat (Fela Creation), hence the “s” at the end. Again the only reason why you think Afrobeats is an umbrella term is because the lazy western media, due to the success of Afrobeats now term any popular African song or artist as Afrobeats, Nasty C a rapper from South Africa is being labeled as an Afrobeats artist, when he clearly does not do Afrobeats music. Stop falling for generalizations from the media who are to lazy to do research. This is an article in the 90”s talking about Afro-pop, so how can juls create something that has already been in existence even before he was born?

ProblemChild1:You people are tolerating these people. What he just typed is that loose talk on their radio and TV with airheads the call pundits and the narrative is Nigerian musicians are not talented and their success us tied to record labels. Burna boy for example has stick with his sound even when it wasn't Making money for him. He continued pushing that sound believing that one day, people will hear it and appreciate it and here we are today.. At some point wizkid overly afro sound used to irritate me cos I was used to the smooth American sound but see wizkid today. Davido used to sound some way back in the day but look at the investment he's made on himself and how much he's grown vocally. These things are hard work, dedication and personal investment. Did burna boy just woke up and start performing the way he does today, it take many hours, days and years of nonstop rehearsals for him to be where he is today. These are sacrifices these guys have to make to be where they are today.. It has nothing to do with record label. It is record label that performs burna boy.. If the record companies promote your song and you suck at performing them, will anybody buy ticket again. Again, Afrobeat is been marketed as a FEEL GOOD MUSIC and the live concerts and EXPERIENCES. these things took planning, rehearsals and hard work. |

| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by vaxx: 8:44am On Jan 13, 2023 |
ProblemChild1:I D cabbasa record tunes was the pioneer of olamide . It was after he was accepted that he become popular in his own. No Nigeria big artist rise on his own without a known record label except davido I repeat . |

POKUASI2:it is because you are a failed student who doesn't know that it is how deeper your pocket . I already analysed this earlier if you are not stupid , you wouldn't be asking same similar question. Appiatus was even successful , he blows azonto |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by POKUASI2: 8:53am On Jan 13, 2023 |
vaxx:ID cabbasa was a producer ooo.. Record labels in Nigeria became a thing when When we had marketers in alaba international. Who is talking record label in 2003 when all you need is a producer who will produce your work and you'll go looking for marketers at ALABA. why are these people telling us our own history that some of us witnessed and lived through |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by POKUASI2: 9:01am On Jan 13, 2023 |
vaxx:he blew azonto and couldn't start a "strong record label" to push your artists to the milky-way galaxy. Is it that most of you Ghanaian talk before thinking or what.. Hammer produced sarkodie Tinny Kwaw kese and EDEM.. I remember when I visited my brother in 2009 and hammer was on every radio and TV station promoting edem and songs like bra fr3 MI And u dey craze. Okyeame kwame woso was everywhere Richie and ASEM was on every radio station. Ask me what these artists had in common.. They were copying AMERICA SOUNDS of the time.. Meanwhile FAZE KOLOMENTAL AND 9CE GONGOASO was peoples' favorite in every hood party, birthdays and what have you |

vaxx:This one is trying so hard to fit in.. Phyno has released dozens of songs and was pretty popular in the east before GHOST MODE with olamide.. I bought ruggedman's ruggedybaba album. I knew ja-mix and ID cabbasa were the top producers in Nigeria |
