Has it been confirmed that it is completed? cos I haven't seen any official statement from Dangote just news that Buhari is coming to commission the refinery next week Tuesday?

Shaytun:
The Dangote oil refinery has finally been completed and will be commissioned by the President of Nigeria on the 24th of this month (January) 2023.

Here are Top 10 facts about this humongous project:

1. The Dangote oil and petrochemical refinery is a 650,000 Barrel-Per-Day (BPD) oil refinery. It is the largest single train oil refinery on planet earth, the largest in Africa, the 7th largest oil refinery in the world. It is capable of meeting the energy demands for both Nigeria and the entire continent of Africa.

2. Dangote announced he would want to build a refinery in 2013, at that time, it would cost $9 billion. It was not untill 2016 construction started.

3. The Refinery was originally meant to be built in the oil producing state of Ondo but due to lack of political will from the Ondo State Government, Dangote moved the project to Lagos state.

4. The Refinery along with the Petrochemical plant is expected to generate $20 billion yearly for Nigeria.

5. The Refinery will reposition Nigeria as an energy hub globally.

6. The Refinery has the longest subsea gas pipeline in the world with a length of 1100km.

7. The Refinery will generate electricity of up to 12,000MegaWatts.

8. The Refinery is a $25 billion investment, the largest single investment carried out on the African continent by an individual and the most expensive industrial complex in Africa and perhaps the world.

9. The refinery will produce 50,000,000 litres of Euro-V quality gasoline and 17,000,000 litres of diesel daily, as well as aviation fuel and plastic products.

10. It will provide 135,000 permanent jobs and overall 300,000 direct and indirect jobs.

Bonus facts: The Dangote Oil Refinery will have a Nelson complexity index of 10.5 which means that it will be more complex than most refineries in the United States (average 9.5) or Europe (average 6.5). (The world's largest refinery, the Jamnagar Refinery in India, has a complexity of 21.1).

The Refinery has the most piles for its pile foundation on the planet.

The refinery is situated on 10 standard football fields.

Nigeria industrialization is a must
Nigeria is now one of the largest producer of Stone-Coated Roofing Sheets in Africa with the establishment of this factory by FABCOM in 2014 and their expansion since then . Importation of the product from China would be curbed and Nigeria will be supplying the rest of Africa.

the way Nigeria musical industry is business orientated, it is either you blow thru known record label as an upcoming artist or blow thru collaboration with extablished artist . Either one . Both will make you spend . Cus you will not be featuring your known partner with just empty hand .
Entertainment business is all about spending to make a name and money for yourself.

Son,i wanna help u.....
Any projection, either of economic stuff or population,if they give u projections of 100 or 70 years to come, just know that is false.
In this world we live,no one knows what will happen in the next 50 years. Just think, the war in Ukraine just came up and through that war,Many things changed so fast. Now who knows what will happen in the year 2100?
Some nations will be no more due to break ups, some nations will be at war,and some nations will be under stupid leaders, or something like a pandemic can change all those projections
Now u son must thank me for teaching you these stuff
If you want to help me, write well. Express yourself with readable English. Embrace a write-up that portrays intelligence.

That being said, You're not entirely spot on. Also, your message is misplaced. I didn't say anything contrary to your train of thought - or unless you were indirectly passing a word for shack man.

Now, lemme school you:
Most Projections are based on the static flow of current trends, Some adjust the trend based on other supporting factors; eg for the economy; trends can be adjusted based on the manufacturing growth rate, or population growth rate. Projection by itself is:
an estimate or forecast of a future situation based on a study of present trends.
Mark the word, STUDY OF PRESENT TRENDS.

Long-term projection is incapable of foreseeing calamities and war. Inflation and hyperinflation are not factored in either; unless the forecast is short-term.

So, if your $70B GDP is growing by 10% each year; then it will be ideal to calculate the growth for 100years with that 10% growth rate - $7B growth yearly - which gives us a rate for 100 years to be $700B; Meaning TZ in the next century will be up there with a whopping $770B GDP.

We cannot overlook Pandemics, calamities, epidemics, wars, and other impromptu occurrences Notwithstanding the statistical trend. Now that makes it hard for any long-term projection to come to pass; making your point to be somehow relevant.

money without talent is just a waste bro. Because you will just be spending money and be singing rubbish, no one will even look your side. Good music matters too, and that's what the Nigerian music industry is filled with, lots of talents around.

Chasing away potential business with dodgy business practices.

MTN received best tax compliant company in Ghana, by Ghana regulator, its was also complemented for being biggest tax contributor at 5% of all taxes collected.

You see when you are being hostile to business, they will divestment..... Sometimes not because of theres no business or money but purely hostle business processes.

How DENSE are you?

Lemme help you.

Example 1:
$700,000,000,000 ÷ 25yrs
28,000,000,000(100)
+ the existing GDP.
$2,800,000,000,000 + $70,000,000,000
$2,870,000,000,000 wrong!

Example 2:
$700,000,000,000 ÷ 100yrs
$7,000,000,000 per year
$7,000,000,000(100years) + existing GDP
$700,000,000,000 + $70,000,000,000
$770,000,000,000 √ correct!

GDP is compounded yearly

If its 70b in 2022 then 2023 it will be 77b

2024 it will be 77b + 10% = 84.7b
2025 it will be 84.7b + 10% = 93b
Etc

Cycle will take around 25 years to be 700b
