On this day 15th January, 1966 Chukuwama Nzeogwu betrayed Sir Ahmadu Bello Sardauna who adopted him from a hopeless family and enrolled him in school to later become a soldier spearheaded a bloody coup killing the majority of leading figures of the North. know how it started

Ironsi the Betrayal..

Ironsi and other Igbo officials knew there was gonna be a coup and all premier would be killed except the eastern premier..

What was discussed at the coup was to probably overthrow the government because of bad governance, killing of officials was never the plan. Chukwuma Ezeogbo knows his plan, but tricked other soldiers. This was why after killing the premier, he went on a live TV to chest beat about it..

The northerners that were already boiling saw the live video and lost all their cool. Hence why a counter coup was hoisted as a form of revenge to kill Ironsi..

Ironsi’ death was what made the plan of Igbos to fail. Their believe that they’ll rule Nigeria forever was shattered..

These mofo ruined Nigeria, no be small..

I've been watching how some section of the country carry propaganda against a particular section of the country through blackmail in order to be given presidential power. Abacha loot is not northern loot but if it was the other way round, they'll term it igbo loot ; Atiku or Kwankwaso is not Boko Haram but Obi is Ipob even though massob accused him of eliminating their members via Ezu river in Anambra; the1966 military coup is igbo coup but subsequent coups were not ethnical or regional coup. It's only truth and true love that can make Nigeria great but with the present setting, no leader can do magic for the betterment of the country.

Oh, but Akintola too, made similar remarks like the sardunna however his assertion was on the need for yorubas to come together else igbos will control all the available federal service posts in Yorubaland whilst our young new graduates are roaming the streets of Western region, looking to be gainfully employed in their ancestral land.

All the more reason why Akintola was high up on the coupists list. I dare say, even higher than ironsi who, by virtue of his position as the highest ranking military officer in the country, could truncate their coup and as a matter of fact,, he did.
