If I tell you that NNPC have not remitted a dime to Federal Coffers from oil revenue since February last year you won't believe and this is affecting states because FG is remitting nothing to states.
As it stands, the survival of state governments depends on IGR and one of the effective ways of boosting IGR is collection of taxes which is the same way it's done in Europe and America.
Where the problem lies is if State Governments are not using the people's taxes to develop the state, then the people have the right to revolt against Government.
Makes alot a sense, really? No funds has being allocated since february last year? How did you know? What if the funds has being looted as ussual. At what rate is Soludo taxing these poor keke drivers and other poor masses? is he taxing at fixed rates? I mean, a keke driver falls sick and didn't work for a whole month therefore didn't make a dime that month, will Soludo and his thugs still harrass the keke rider for taxes that month? How can the keke rider proof that he did make a dime that month he had being sick?

I have being paying taxes at PAYE rate since i was 18 years old and my tax codes and rates changes every year depending on how much i earned that month or year.

You think Soludo will not steal? You watch, Soludo would become a billionaire after his tax money thieving regime. I hope you have paid your own taxes.

Okay.

I get your point.

You are trying to say Anambra people should not pay tax because Soludo will steal it. You pay tax or not politicians that want to steal will steal.

The oil revenues, local government allocations etc are enough for him.

Where I live, the cost of transportation is expensive, I have to pay, the transport guys then pay the government.

My company deducts taxes from my Salary.

So yes, I dey pay my tax.

Yes, i think he shouldn't tax them, the masses are already paying too much taxes in Anambra. As you explained that you pay too.

Soludo should use his fund allocations to build whatever he wants in Anambra.

By the way, at what rate is he taxing these poor keke riders? Fixed rates or variable. People pay taxes arcoding to their earnings, but i doubt that is the case with Soludo tax system.

Okay, they should pay taxes, but these taxes paid by keke or other drivers will have to be passed on to already struggling masses who will end up paying more for using these keke or other tax paying means of transportations or any shop or businesses paying taxes to Soludo. Even though these masses are already paying taxes on their earnings. Anambra will end up like Great Britain eventually where everything is taxed.

Hopefully Soludo will deliver. Let me talk politics small, Soludo against Obi his brother in his Presidential race will be another serious factor that will reduce the chance of Obi to win this race that will be keenly contested. I know truth is bitter

A very big mistake on the part of Soludo... He will try to appease the people all through his first tenure for what he said again Obi. This reduction in tax rate is an example.
What he said helped Obi a lot, it demystify Obi as Igbo project, and most importantly brought a lot Sympathy votes together with its publicity

Big mistake in what way? By imposing taxes?

We admire the west because of how structured they are. Forgetting that it's tax money that helped them become who they are now. Yet we frown at tax payment here when the leader involved intend to build with it.

So what about when they didn't work for a whole month or 2 months? Will they still pay for these months? Or month? Co's as i explained taxes are paid arcoding to how much you earn, the months you didn't earn you don't pay for that month.

If they are being charged for 7 days will they still pay 358 daily for that 7 days they didn't work? If they fell sick for 7 days Co's that would be cheating. And how can they proof to the tax collectors that they didn't earn any money for that 7 days they were sick?

They should go to old Motor spare parts Nkpor or new parts and collect taxes let's see. They are only harrassing poor keke drivers and buses. And they cannot also try that tax collecting harrasment at Mgbuka Obosi.
