Any component / any system is rated to perform optimality for a certain time period , beyond which with time failures will start happening, wear and tear will increase, which collectively will eventually render the entire system inoperable

If poseidon is rated to travel 10,000 km it will do , but beyond that if might or might not go , depending on the state of the overall system, forget unlimited range

A bus can also go 10,000 km if all its components are kept in top condition via repairs/replacements same is not possible on poseidon once it is fired
