Four Nigerians have been arrested in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) for allegedly running a prostitution ring.

The suspects are Sharon Blessing Chibuike(38), Promise Ben David(27), Chinedu Emmanuel Ibekwe(19), and Esther Montse(29).

They face crimes of forced detention with the intent of prostitution, encouragement of prostitution, prostitution, and intentional sexual detention.

A Police officer, Vasvi Özbey reported the facts in a sworn testimony in court on Wednesday, Jan. 25.

The police acted on a complaint filed by "OA" at the Nicosia Judicial Branch on January 23.

Blessing Chibuike lives in Nicosia, capital of Cyprus, with OA whom they had brought from Nigeria to enroll as a student in Turkey.

The suspects withheld the passport of the 28-year-old, forcing her to have sex with men in exchange for money.

A search warrant was obtained from the Nicosia District Court, but no one could be identified at the address.

On January 24, the police obtained a court order to take in the suspects for prosecution.
Two notebooks found at the address now form part of the evidence.

The suspects say they are not guilty.

Judge Nil Elodie Çeliker ordered their remand in police custody as investigation continues.

They are being treated this way because they are Nigerians. Asuming they were white, they wouldn't have arrested them.

The story isn’t correct. The tribalist who brought it from LindaIkeji had to tribalize and bold the names all thanks to Nairaland tribal support. All I see here is one Igbo name as the accused a 19 years old Chinedu Emmanuel Ibekwe who might even be a student. The rest two Promise Ben David(27), and Esther Montse(29) are from other tribes. The only female Montse sound’s Itshekiri.

How are we even sure it’s a trafficking issue? The alleged victim is nearly twice as old as the alleged traffickers. The story does not add up.

If you must japa. Japa with dignity. Never put your hope on empty promises of anyone. You are better off than some abroad. They will make you come because they see you are desperate then deal with you. If you fall in wrong hands then cultism, prostitution, drugs trafficking and other vices await you.

For me let's make Nigeria great. Uk is planning on reducing stay after schooling. It's coming soon. The effects are telling on them. They made huge money from us coming to study.
