If we have to be honest,TINUBU really has to be given credit for the creation of modern Lagos.

The truth is that Lagos is not the top state in Nigeria because it was a former capital, tinubu and past Yoruba leadership really had a touch in making the state,Lagos is not really made because it was a former capital,the Yoruba leadership from Awo to the present are hugely responsible for it and should be given their due credit.

Enough of the disparaging of Yoruba contribution.

I recall in the 90s Lagos despite being a capital was more or less like most states back then,in which only the government house areas and the GRAs are developed with other areas being like a village or slum.

Development stopped in Lagos as soon as the capital was moved to Abuja in 1991.

The Fulani run Nigeria governments only developed the areas in LAGOS where the government officials and business were,they didn't bother about anything else.

After the capital was moved to Abuja, they deliberately left the city to rot.
Lagos was abandoned.

You could literarily count the high rises in Lagos in the 90s,Lagos was more serene,organised especially in the legacy areas but it was hugely underdeveloped as late as the 90s.
Lagos in the 90s was more or less like Ibadan of today . The state was left to rot by the Fulani run Nigeria, they probably left it for dead.They expected the collapse of southern Nigeria.

We all have seen an unprecedented boom in Lagos in the last few decades,I mean the state was virtually written off in the year 2000 by an international magazine, it was like the state was finished.

But the man TINUBU breath a new life to the state

Expansion, growth and boom came with the TINUBU plan which fashola especially implemented.Tinubu himself had to deal with the previous rot left behind for him, that he could not even implement his plan .

I can't enumerate all he did here,but in summary he created a system of revival of Lagos and in extension southern Nigeria. LAGOS helped the development of East and the south south.

His plan actually Began taking shape under fashola.I recall when fashola was campaigning he was talking about the plans , we all thought it was a fluke but the plans actually became reality and Lagos experienced rapid development.

However, TINUBU is not without his flaws made many flops in his governance style and plans.

His plans are too grand and elistist, this is were Lagos in my humble opinion is missing it.
The state should focus more on the little things and be less elistist,the lower income areas need to be focused more on.

This is were Peter obi comes in,him and tinubu seems to have record of performance and Peter Obi is less elistist and people friendly which is the type of governance Nigeria desperately needs now,a government that really cares about the poor.

On the other hand Atiku is another Fulani captain which will rule only to please the Fulani .Atiku government will hit the final stroke on Nigerdelta wealth, the nigerdelta will extremely regret voting Atiku mark my words.

Tinubu lost is way in his desire for presidency, he as used Lagos money to entrench himself in politics which is a great error,this error eroded his credibility his focus as been on politics instead of governance, he is now old and sick.

Peter obi is the best option there is now,southern Nigeria must work to elect this man.

Southern Nigeria will bitterly regret if they don't.

Remember this, Southerners,
“the north doesn't give a damn about you”.

It's the turn of the south, the south should learn to put itself first or regrets will follow.

why didnt the same yoruba elders developed ondo, ekiti or the other yoruba states? abi na only Lagos be yoruba state
