vankelvin:Some African countries have shown interest in hosting the Olympics, even Kenya once showed. Showing interest is one, beating off other cities that showed interest is another and so far, only South Africa showed concrete interest in 2004, others are just mere speculation, including Egypt. At least, we can all agree that Dakar will host the 2026 youth Olympics, which will be the first Olympics event in d continent. |

AfriqueDuZuid:No.9. I know you use to be number 1 on having the safest drinking tape water in the world, but I think for now u are way lower. Again,I can't understand why S.A. isn't the biggest economy in africa considering how when looked in a physical eyes, SA appears to be having the biggest economic output in the continent Number 15. Whenever u mention rovos train don't forget to mention how it makes trips from cape town to Dar es salaam |

Ayo114:Very myopic as usual When your borders were locked it only affected the few Ghanaians who were trading with Nigerians. From what you posted it is evidently clear that the guy was trading solely with Nigerians but the many Ghanaians who had many options felt nothing and yes your economy was affected not Ghana

Why are you being so selective? I made mention of two things 1) showing interest and 2) working towards it and so far it's only these two countries that have made their intentions known and have gone ahead to build the facilities. You and I know since Kenya declared their intention they have not even build a single facility and that's a nonstarter Also let's make a clear distinction here we are discussing Olympics not Youth Olympics theenchanter: |

ProblemChild1:Ghana is virtually Somalia without the war which makes you realize how bleeped they are since Somalia has the war excuse. ![]() Ghana the first sub Saharan African nation to gain independence and never experience civil war or major conflict; yet it’s one of the most backwards nations on the continent falling significantly behind those that decolonized later and experienced major civil conflict. What went wrong?

Kazikazi:- It's not who has access to safe drinking water but the quality of water itself which South Africa is still a world leader - Population, our population and population growth means that countries like Nigeria and Egypt would always overtake us at some point, in time Ethiopia, Kenya and the DRC will overtake SA as well due to population growth.....South Africa will still have a far higher per capita than these countries though. - And? why must he mention it? |
| Re: Kenyans Are Far Behind Nigerians In Every Aspect – Fani-Kayode by GeneralDae: 4:41pm On Feb 07, 2023 |
Kazikazi:South Africa does not have the biggest economic output. Even MTN makes more money in Nigeria than in South Africa. Airtel Nigeria alone is a giant in comparison to it's other parts in Africa. South Africa have the biggest companies but not the biggest market. |

vankelvin:what do u mean by building the facilities? That's where u're missing it. If u have a standard stadium, u already have where the games will be played. The other things needed are the normal infrastructures that's needed in a city. U don't need to host Olympics before u build infrastructures, no be so? And since Kenya made it's intention known, have they not built rail lines? Highways? Hotels? Malls? And tightened their security around Nairobi? Having a befitting stadium is even the least of consideration at first as that can be built pending when the games will be played. Baba, there's nothing called "working towards it by building facilities" to make ur intention known, u only build the facilities when u win d bid. How can u build sport facility simply because u want to declare a bid? Ur way if reasoning sef, e get as e be. And I said Dakar will host the youth Olympics, which will mean Dakar will be the first to host an "Olympic event" in d continent. Is youth Olympics not an Olympic event? |

GeneralDae:MTN makes almos same amount of revenue with half of customers Nigeria has... This means SA may not have the population but they have a spending population Ethiopia, Egypt, DRC, NIGERIA have the market(population) However South African market spends Airtel is not a giant its vodacom, mtn, orange, also safaricom |

GeneralDae:Many many stuff are showing them to be Africa's big economy. Check their stock exchange, its way ahead of anybody. Infrastructure is also way ahead Air transportation Rail freight Electricity consumption Manufacturing Their multinational companies like sasol, mtn, Vodacom, mondi, arcellmital Agriculture Revenue collections Many many stuff, even when you just look at joburg Pretoria route, the way they are busy, only God knows how those GDP are calculated to make them the 3rd largest economy in africa |

AfriqueDuZuid:Simply because of the currency disparity and the low value of the naira if not MTN alone has 78 million active customers in Nigeria. I said Airtel Nigeria for example in comparison to Airtel in other African countries is a giant. This means if Vodafone, Orange, and Safaricom goes to Nigeria, their Nigerian branches are likely to be the biggest in Africa as well. |
