Many many stuff are showing them to be Africa's big economy.
Check their stock exchange, its way ahead of anybody.
Infrastructure is also way ahead
Air transportation
Rail freight
Electricity consumption
Manufacturing
Their multinational companies like sasol, mtn, Vodacom, mondi, arcellmital
Agriculture
Revenue collections

Many many stuff, even when you just look at joburg Pretoria route, the way they are busy, only God knows how those GDP are calculated to make them the 3rd largest economy in africa
South Africa had an early start compared to other SS African nations. Most of its primary infrastructures were built long before many nations found their feet.

Their economy has gotten to the brim, In my opinion. If they want it to grow astronomically again, they'll need to toe any other untapped portion of the economy, which in my opinion, is not much.

yes they had early start just the same way USA had earlier start than China, but currently, China have overtaken USA in infrastructure supremacy although Chinese economy isn't yet bigger than US in nominal figures.

But here in africa, there is naija and Egypt overtake SA but when you go to the ground,SA infrastructure is way way ahead.

They still have Alot of untapped resources and potentials. They have tons and tons of untapped natural gas in karoo and oil in the ocean besides other stuff like hydrogen and even other mineral resources like heliums

See this?
Kenya is building railway, Hotels Malls so they are making preparations for Olympics? what sort of wack argument is this?
You really need to cool off your arrogance and accept that you goofed by including Kenya.

Meanwhile Egypt and South Africa already have all these Malls, Hotels, railways, monorails, BRT's and other sports facilities to match their intentions

Also stop trying to set your own questions and answering them. The conversation was and is on Olympics proper not a youth Olympics

theenchanter:
what do u mean by building the facilities? That's where u're missing it. If u have a standard stadium, u already have where the games will be played. The other things needed are the normal infrastructures that's needed in a city. U don't need to host Olympics before u build infrastructures, no be so? And since Kenya made it's intention known, have they not built rail lines? Highways? Hotels? Malls? And tightened their security around Nairobi? Having a befitting stadium is even the least of consideration at first as that can be built pending when the games will be played.

Baba, there's nothing called "working towards it by building facilities" to make ur intention known, u only build the facilities when u win d bid. How can u build sport facility simply because u want to declare a bid?

Ur way if reasoning sef, e get as e be.

And I said Dakar will host the youth Olympics, which will mean Dakar will be the first to host an "Olympic event"
in d continent. Is youth Olympics not an Olympic event?

Despite the availability of support for deprived households in Accra to construct domestic toilets, there may not be a single household in one community with a population believed to be in excess of 100,000, whose residents have access to their own toilet, painstaking investigations suggest.

Kokomba market, located between Korle Lagoon and River Odaw, across the street from Agbogbloshie, is barely a kilometre square community.

It goes to Botswana via Namibia

Again its a South African train. Same way Tanzania airways got nothing to do with SA even though it may come to SA.
