Elderstatesman and Afenifere national leader, Pa Ayo Adebanjo said Southerners are against the plot by the Northern Elders Forum to impose another northerner on Nigerians in 2023 after President Muhammadu Buhari has completed eight years.

Speaking on Saturday at the venue of the Obi-Datti rally at the Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) in Lagos, Adebanjo said if Peter Obi, presidential candidate of the Labour Party does not emerge as president in 2023, then there won't be any nation called Nigeria again.

"If Obi does not become president in 2023, then forget Nigeria.The Northern elders now say I want to impose Obi on them. They want to impose a Northerner on us and we are saying No!".

" We are not here to sing and dance like the other parties. We want to talk about how to make this country work. We want to talk about how to remove area bots from the streets and provide jobs for them" Adebanjo said.

I think this baba is one of the few yorubas with good intentions for this country as long as they want nigeria to be one nation, truly if we want this nation to continue as 1 Country its the turn of the igbos to take over the reign of power, to balance the equation,we cannot continue to be selfish and inconsiderate to allow power to rotate between the north and the west alone, only a STUPID country will be doing the same thing and expect a different result

The way these Northerners want to clinge to power and be ruling the entire country the way they subject other tribes in their region to make power remained with either Fulanis or Hausas is a wonder to me....



They can not bring that type of mentality to the national level of politics....

This grandpa should stop hitting the polity. Nobody is imposing anybody.

The people of Nigeria will decide who presides over the affairs of this country and if they choose Atiku (which I'm sure they will), nothing will happen.
