The ongoing subtle fight between Buhari (call it cabal if you like) and the party that created the platform for him to be president has brought an interesting dimension to our politics. This has never happened in the history of democracy in Nigeria and therefore Buhari will be making history if he succeeds in his ongoing struggle with his party by either putting in place an interim government or ensuring the opposition party wins. It will be history making for Buhari. Why did Buhari turn against Tinubu (the only formidable force within the APC)? Why is Buhari willing to do whatever it takes to ensure the APC loses including disobeying the supreme court? Why does Buhari believe more in the few people around him than the governors of his party? Why is Buhari elevating his cabal even above his party? What has Buhari got to gain from all these? |

Asiwaju has proved himself to be a bold and brave leader that cannot be controlled by any cabal. They knw the level of atrocities that they have committed and they knw Asiwaju will hold them accountable for it that's why they want to install either interim govt or Atiku |

KingKO22:100% correct. Also, what is shown below goes to the heart of the matter 100%. Any President who can arrogantly and undemocratically dismiss what the entire world agrees Nigeria needs above everything else, to thrive and develop, does not mean well for all Nigerians and all regions of Nigeria. Buhari and his cabal are simply afraid Tinubu will uncompromisingly fight for and succesfully deliver the reforms that has made the UK, USA, France, Germany etal great and developed nations. Same fear they harboured over Awolowo or Abiola becoming President. For regressive elements, whether 1973 or 2023, the agenda remains about the fear of brilliant and independent-minded Southerners who can rock the boat to the benefit of the true socio-econiomic liberalisation of Nigeria and all Nigerians. As an example, what would some bourgeoisie oppressors live for if they no longer have illiterate, unexposed and gullibly naive Nigerians to use as pawns while their kids are over-privileged elite ? This reality is particularly redolent of Northern Nigeria and we must ask what Buhari, previously deemed the king of talakawas, did to uplift the poor and underprivileged permanently, as Awolowo did for Yorubas. The poor and underprivileged in the North worshipped Buhari enduringly because they believed he would be their salvation once President. Alas, what has Buhari done for them in almost 8 years as President? In the past 3 out of 7.7 years of Buhari in power, what is obvious is that our President is a leader dogmatically and intolerantly beholden to centrist control of Pharaoh-like power. I personally believe events are aligning to show Buhari that it is time "Pharaoh, let my people go". Exodus 8:1

Yes, they are. They have already set up a committee to hand over to the next president. Besides, Buhari has said several times that he's tired and wants to leave. He just doesn't want to see a successor who will buy the highest of the land because he's been privileged to hold an important public office. Plus, if the Druggie could a private citizen but still have bullion vans moving into his private residence, then he will relocate the Mint office from Abuja to his house in Ikoyi if he wins the next election. Think, Nigerians, think! |

SmartPolician:You new fans of Buhari, thinking we do not know why you now support him, should tell us what you think of Buhari's greatest failing of letting down the poor, uneducated and grossly underprivileged class of the North who host some of the worst human development index on earth. Buhari came in and ignored those people who naively and innocently put their whole life and existence in his hands. They made Buhari president yet how did he pay them back other than do the total opposite of what can bring those people succour, emancipation and hope ? What time or focus did Buhari have for the talakawas? Awolowo faced similar but he moved decisely and purposefully to liberate Yorubas and Nigerians from developmental impediments. What did Buhari do about the almajiri problem that is an albatross around the neck of the North's development? What did Awolowo do when similarly placed? What did Tinubu do for all Lagosian, including your fellow Igbos, when he became the leader of Lagos? You educated bigots and haters need to do some soul searching. Is it about hate and vendetta or the progress of society and the empowerment of those who can deliver such? |

Dsalvo:Lemme set the record straight No, I can never be Buhari's fan because I never voted for him. In fact, I am one of his biggest critics on Nairaland. However, every leader has his good and bad sides. The same applies to Buhari. I cannot say that because Buhari destroyed Nigeria's economy I won't use the road he fixed. Doing that will be the height of insanity. Now, why Buhari's biggest critics, including myself, are hailing him is that he apparently knows that many people consider him a monumental failure of epic proportions, so he is doing his best to leave a legacy of free, fair and credible elections by eliminating vote-buying and deploying modern technology. That, my faceless friend, is very commendable! 👌👌 |
