A good policy got politicized and ended up a big fiasco. Trying to kill a mosquito by burning down an entire house is a dumb thing to do. Why didn't this policy implemented when Buhari and Emefiele had all the time at their disposal to monitor it to their satisfaction? Now people who have as little as 10k are now expected to suffer so much and abandon other things to TRY and deposit the money?

Like someone said, this is not a cash swap but cash confiscation. Imagine an average middle class putting 100,000 for swap and being told he can only be given 3,000 in the bank as withdrawal. Of course, nobody gets sacked or resigns in Nigeria for this.

Iro ni! I was at access bank and first bank in ayobo today and such never happened. They only allowed people to do transfer on the atm sef, it wasn't paying cash. They didn't open at all.

This is just propaganda no bank in Nigeria opened to collect deposit.

The collection of old N500 and N1000 will only be deposited after election. This is because any move to accept deposit will generate crises.

So the President,CBN and commercial bank will play low until after election.

If you have old money don't panic they will be asked for to be deposited in after election.

Customers have to generate a number in the CBN portal before they can deposit. And the money won't hit their accounts till CBN approves.
So, it's not a direct Bank deposit per se.

I generated the code and I was directed to deposit at the commercial bank that issued the account I want my money to be remitted; I've not done that though, I will be doing that on Monday.

It's only First bank beside it that didn't open. Iyana Ipaja branch open and I know people that went there today. Stop saying what you don't know
