Osinbajo Would Have Had No Opposition As Presidential Candidate by Pauldollars(op): 10:33pm On Feb 22, 2023
True or False?

I keep wondering if Prof. Yemi Osinbajo was on the ballot (even in another Political party) for 2023 General Election, would other Presidential candidates have had any chance?

You know, when it comes to Nigeria, I've come to realize that good things can only happen when the people make it happen by force.

*Thinking out loud*

If Osinbanjo were to be on the ballot, we need to be sincere with ourselves, he'll get nothing other than distance third , because he has gotten no record to campaign with being the chairman of Economic council and the economy is like this.. secondly, Atiku would have been really happy because he will see Obi and Osinbajo as paper weight politicians , thirdly, on what ground would someone who has never delivered his polling unit win someone(Obi) who was once the governor of a state. Fourthly, Atiku would have worked on his popularity to get bloc votes from North, while PO would also get bloc votes from the SS and SE region, but bloc votes has never and will never come from SW to favour Osinbajo... However, based on his popularity in the SW where he came from and the North, he does not stand a chance of winning the presidential election

These people are born with hatred. If you put osinbanjo, they will still come out with another fault to reject him. They are always moving in opposite direction of yorubas. When Falae was presented as Yoruba choice, they still found fault with what Yoruba liked and voted for obasanjo instead because they were left with no choice (not really because they loved obasanjo). If obasanjo was presented with another south-south/north candidates then, they wouldn't have voted for obasanjo; they would have created reason for not voting for him. They are always in opposite direction when it comes to politics

There was a time the dollar got to $500 in 2017 and within the few months buhari was on treatment Osibanjo brought it down to three something and sanitizes the public service that was when the whole Nigeria started rooting for him until emilokan f*ucked him up because he is a Christian. That time owerri prison was burnt he visited see how they were hailing him like the president unlike several times buhari visited same owerri people treated him like a ghost just like they did to tinubu

There's no point overhyping the Osibanjo that was part and parcel of the rot of the last 8 years. Besides, like Tinubu, an Osibanjo candidacy wouldn't assuage the vexed question of whether it is the turn of another Yoruba person to be president... After 8 years of Obasanjo and another 8 years of Yoruba Vice Presidency. Equity and justice would only demand that if power is returning to the South, it MUST return to the South East. That sentiment is there, and it is a very valid sentiment to sensible and fair minded people.

So, much as Osibanjo is a relatively decent and a much more marketable candidate than this ugly BAT, his candidacy wouldn't be all roses.

Who brought Osinbajo into limelight? Same Tinubu. Osinbajo is just an orator people love listening to such a man but will never win a LG election. Ask yourself why people didn't vote for Gani Fawemi but celebrated his death?
