Gov Ayade Loses Senate Bid As PDP's Jarigbe Clinches Seat by Ofunaofu(op): 5:13am On Feb 27, 2023

The Senator representing Nothern Senatorial District of Cross River in the National Assembly , Sen Jarigbe Agom Jarigbe of the Peoples Democratic party,PDP, has defeated Governor Ben Ayade to clinch the Senate seat.

Senator Jarigbe garnered 76,145 to defeat governor Ben Ayade who polled 56, 595 votes in the exercise.

Declaring Sen. Jarigbe winner of the Senatorial election in the early hours of Monday , 27th , 2023, the returning officer, Dr. Emmanuel Emanghe who spoke on behalf of Independent National Electoral Commission INEC commended stakeholders for their peaceful conduct

Emanghe also lauded all security agents for giving the needed security support which invariably led to successful and credible election.

A very shameful period in the history of our nation.
We thought that we had gone past ballot box snatching and thuggery. Some parties claimed that they had structures all over the country. As it appears, Nigerians will never get it right, especially with the citizens choosing the wrong people.

Hopefully those who cross carpeted and left their people in the middle of nowhere, like Ben Ayade, can feel the effect of their wrong choices. Calabar used the be the cleanest city in the whole country. A very decent city, very peaceful and decent. Ben Ayade changed the situation.

Ayade and Umahi should sack anyone that advised them to join APC. You can't join a party that your people re not comfortable and expect miracle. Even Akpabio as strong as he was lost his senatorial bid when he joined APC let alone lightweight politicians like Ayade and Umahi
