Nigeria should have powerful seaports in warri, akwa ibom, rivers, calabar etc, if these places have seas or ocean. It will help decongest Lagos and improve the spread of business and development in some other parts too... 3 Likes |

You are absolutely right, that’s the only way to decongest Lagos. Gush I hate Lagos with passion. If you are not on the islands forget it I can never be your friend because I’ll never pay you a visit. |

plaindealer:The old ports in Portharcourt, warri and calabar should be put to maximum use. Rivers alone has 2 ports. Portharcourt port and onne port. But due to politics it is only meant to handle iced fish,it is under utilised. So politics should be removed let the other ports in the south south begin to operate full. |

So why are Ogun and Ondo not crying? Secondly, sink into your head that Lagos' first seaport was built by the SW resources before the amalgamation of Nigeria. Unlike others in Nigeria. Second Lagos seaport (Lekki seaport) was built by Tinubu! So what exactly are you crying about? Lagos did it by themselves. That's why Ondo and Ogun are not crying about Lagos because they know it was Lagos who did their things. Thirdly, Porthatcourt seaport is functioning. So why aren't you using it? 6 Likes |

ebubeson: Lagos State just built a FTZ complete with seaport and an upcoming airport. What's wrong with your state governments building their own ports, and stop waiting on FG? |

Where would the state have money to build seaports when the seaports in the domain that should provide the IGR to build private seaports are neglected and starved of infrastructure? Lagos have enjoyed monopoly of seaports over the last 50 years and only built a port in 2022 which even not functional yet. MetaPhysical: |
