The best way to forge the North/southwest alliance is to completely alienate ibos from the Senate President office.
We can always compensate them with other sensitive positions for the purpose of National integration, but as for the SP office it should go to SS.

When we are seeking peace, reconciliation and reintegration, we must be realistic and open minded. APC has a slight majority in the Senate. If the party will make the SP concession to the south east, then it has to be a senator from SE APC and nothing else. We all saw how things played out under Bukola Saraki as senate president. A Tinubu presidency can’t afford.

So, let’s be realistic here. Conceding the SP to the SE despite the hatred for the party and the president-elect is already more than a good gesture. It doesn’t have to be Orji Uzor Kalu. It can be Umahi or any other SE APC Senator. What’s important to me is the need to reintegrate Igbos back into national relevance. An Igbo man must be on the table where major decisions about the country is being made. That’s the only way to start the healing process.

I disagree with this position. We have to bring the SE into considering irrespective of the voting pattern. Igbos are currently very hurt and wounded. Denying them the Senate presidency will further wound them and push them away from national relevance.

We need to make some concessions to them in the overall interest of unity, peace and stability. If giving them the Senate Presidency will help to start the healing process, let’s give them. South south can get the SGF position. A winner takes it all system will only punish the loser. Don’t let’s go through the 5% route again. This country really needs to heal.

I think I disagree with your position here. Igbos are not known to appreciate any form of love shown to them, instead they term it as cowardice, we can see how it's playing out in Lagos. They should be excluded, let them do their worst
