Today, cohabitation in the campus is often a part of the dating process. In fact, cohabitation is increasingly becoming the first co- residential union formed among young adults. More than two-thirds of married couples in the Nigeria said that they lived together before getting married. People may live together for a number of reasons. Cohabitants could live together in order to save money, because of the convenience of living with another, or a need to find housing. Lower income individuals facing financial uncertainty may delay or avoid marriage, not only because of the difficulty of paying for a wedding but also because of fear of financial hardship if a marriage were to end in divorce. The extremely high costs of housing and tight budgets of today’s economy are also factors that can lead a couple to cohabitation Some of the causes also are, high tuition fees, high on-campus accommodation fees, shortage of on-campus accommodation and s*xual gratification among undergraduates. Cohabitation may bring about unwanted pregnancy, may result into abortion and abortion could damage female uterus

Consequences of cohabitation in campus

It is not an exaggeration that cohabitation among university students in Nigeria, has eroded the level of morality among the youths. There are many consequences in a male and female cohabitation in the university…..
