Ghana village, the debt-infested nation. Every article and nearly all legitimate link is saying Ghana's debt to GDP has surpassed the 100% mark. https://www.aljazeera.com/economy/2022/12/6/ghana-approves-2023-budget-in-midst-of-deep-economic-woes |

vaxx:Hoarding happened. Reason was because of Ukrain and Russia war. It doesn't matter whether the war is a sham or not. Many countries were affected. https://www.gep.com/blog/mind/russia-ukraine-wars-effects-oil-and-gas-industry#:~:text=Both%20the%20invasion%20of%20Ukraine,reopen%20and%20enter%20recovery%20phases. |

Shma2023:So you want me to digest blog like you idiot? Nah, I read verified evidence . You can't tell me something that has uniform effect directly affect you more than the rest . Do you suffer from the bullet and bomb throw in russian and ukraine? Did any of your army die as a result of the war ? So if you are talking about a uniform effect and your country is suffering a high shortage of dollars and hording of fuel and you think you can blame ukraine and Russia for that , then you must be stupid , why is Ghana not in your mess ? Your country is simply a banana republic that is all. Get your mess right . |

Mkenya2019:From what I've read so far, your country is in a major economic disaster. No Fx to cover food and fuel imports(basics) not to talk of Fx to pay your debts. bankruptcy is an understatement. at this point, I'm not even sure the IMF would want anything to do with you. what the heck are your troops doing in the DRC? spending the little you've got on military adventurism. You'll need those boots at home to stem the tsuanami that's coming only a miracle would save Kenya. |

vaxx:Reduce emotions. Why insults? I can insult you more than you think you can. Ignore the link. The point I'm trying to make is is: we were one among many who were affected by Russia's Ukraine war. The hoarding process is like a marketing strategy. If You have at least an ounce of peanut brain cells, you won't e hyperventilating from this small nitty gritty. — Is Ukraine Russian war a sham? No. — even so, brilliant entrepreneurs took advantage by hoarding fuel and gas; they made a profit Notwithstanding consumer exploitation. And that's why we managed to overcome post fuel subsidy program. —are Kenyans queuing for fuel and food products? No. — Has kenyans ever qued for fuel products? Yes. When? During Ukraine Russia war. How did the war affect Kenya? Geopolitics is above vax's pay grade. Maybe the cognitive ceiling is wallowing below the optimum level. |

Vaxx, you should enlighten yourself. Arguing with you is like engaging a toddler. You want to be spoon feed everything. Kenya imports wheat, oil, iron, steel, and fertilizers from Russia and Ukraine. Russia and Ukraine dominate wheat imports to the East African region. In Kenya, 67 per cent of wheat is from Russia, 22 per cent from Ukraine and 11 per cent from the rest of the world. Russia is the world’s largest exporter of fertilizer and exports a significant volume of fertilizer to the East Africa region. Disruption in fertilizer production and exportation has already caused a spike in the price of fertilizer in Kenya. In March 2022, the price of fertilizer doubled from the long rains planting season of March-April-May 2021 from Ksh 2,500 to more than Ksh 5,000. The government through the Ministry of Agriculture has introduced a fertilizer subsidy programme following a spike in fertilizer prices, but not all farmers benefited from this. The war and the subsequent sanctions against Russia have disrupted the oil supply in the world. The supply shocks have resulted in more costly oil products in Kenya, leading to increased cost of living. The increased cost of oil products has a wide-ranging welfare impact through increased transport and costs of production, which are in turn transferred to consumers. For example, rising wheat prices have contributed to food inflation in the country. Kenya has an established fuel stabilization fund to provide subsidies and cushion consumers against the negative effects of skyrocketing fuel prices. |

Subsaharan:Kenya debt to GDP is 66%. Ghan a debt to GDP is 100%. What does that mean? Ghana spent more than 80% of their revenue on servicing interests. That means, you're only left with 20% to service the formal sector - meaning; you can't 100% facilitate that without digging into your lenders. Government-sponsored Infrastructure will never happen in Ghana in the next decade; unless they massively borrow; which again, due to cedi depreciation; will mean high voltage economic quagmire in the few years or months to come. |

Shma2023:Do i care ? You are free to insult vaxx, if that will make you think well. You are stupidly inept in thinking , blaming uniform effect on others is an act of stupidity and failure to think independenly on a way out . Did russia produce cassava, maize , beans , pepper, onions that is a coming food and stable food in africa , do you import any of this food from Europe because you are talking as if you shared the same geographical location with Russia or ukraine? Even germany that is facing a direct effect on this consequences is striving so hard to win herself from russia/ ukraine mono economy . There is alternative elsewhere , though the proximity might not be too close . Russia and ukraine has a uniform effect on us all but blaming all alone for your setback is inept and act of ignorance since there exist alternative |

vaxx:You're just conjuring words for the sake of sentence construction. The verbosity you've written here is beyond reproach. Anyhow, that aside. I didn't understand what you wrote on the emboldened. Shma2023:@vaxx, once you're done, contextualize the effect of fuel supply shock with hoarding. Subsidy was imposed to cushion the shock; it didn't favour the cartels. They had to hold fuel in solidarity and wait for the slated subsidy deadline. The government came in and everything resumed to normal. Why did they hoard? There were delays in the payment of subsidies to the companies. |

Subsaharan:Kenya is one of Africa most resilient economy. Worry about Ghana,Nigeria, Ethiopia, Burundi, South Sudan..some of whom have no forex or a week of them.kenya has 3.7 months of forex..with about 2 billion expected from syndicated loan and world bank. Kenya just ironed out a brilliant 4.8b dollars petrol deal with UAE.We also secured food import bill. Our forex problems are behind us.The drought is going to end with long rains expected. We don't have any power rationing because we use geothermal. |

Mkenya2019:You keep borrowing more and more deeping the already pecarious situation you've found yourself. Nigeria would attain energy soveignity by Q'4 23. With >$33bn worth of FX reserves. https://www.legit.ng/business-economy/economy/1523320-cbn-nigerias-foreign-reserves-reduced-by-317m-february/ Nigeria has enough fuel in onshore and offshore storage with more coming on the way https://nairametrics.com/2023/03/05/nnpc-says-it-has-2-1-billion-litres-of-petrol-in-storage/ Your country on the other hand is f*cked on short>mid>long macro and it's not going to get any better any time soon. You are now begging Pakistanis for food and Emiratis for fuel. Credit ratings are junk so they'll be no white elephant projects to gloat about in 'Nairobi' for an awful long time. How much power does Geothermal get you? Not much I think. Might be cool enough to show off to the greenies but wouldn't be enough to drive your economy which is already at the precipice. I don't know why counties like yours are so obsessed with face value. The multilaterals would be quick to give you money to spend on frivolities only to see you default a couple of years down the line. Generation after generation same script you never learn, I guess you're all too comfortable about being colonies. |

For a Zoogeria that is rich. Our debt to gdp has dropped from 67% to 62% - last I checked. Again understand UAE oil deal - why should we pay in advance - yet we can get fuel - use it - and consumer pay it. There is no public borrowing involved - Kenya private banks just gave them guarantees. There is no treasury or public gurantees. Pakistani like Nigeria have serious forex problem. It's our major tea buyer - and we have preferential rice import with them - now they dont have dollars - they give us rice. Otherwise they have told their people not to drink tea. ZOOOGERIA how do we begin. Start with black market dollar rate - 750 naira to a dollar. Inflation? Electricity? The rest Hanke has done - if you country is in this list of shame shut up Subsaharan:
