Rivers State House of Assembly Dissolves Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC).

The Rivers State House of Assembly has dissolved the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC) for lack of accountability.

The Assembly took the decision at its sitting this morning following a request from Gov. Nyesom Wike seeking for RSIEC'S dissolution and approval to reconstitute a new board.

Ruling on the matter, Speaker of the House, Rt. Hon. Ikuinyi-Owaji Ibani DSSRS ruled in favour of the Governor's request after all 23 members sited at the Plenary voted in support of the request.

Wike should also be arrested, he's a worst crook than all the people he is dissolving their jobs.

Nigeria constitution is most useless . If Governor can appoint inec head and sack inec. Where do you think his loyalty will lie?

I doubt this news is true,the state house of assembly including the governor has no power to dissolve or appoint an independent electoral body ,all states REC report to the national chairman and are responsible to him so this is simply fake New.

This time around Wike is the person making trouble for himself

This is where Nigera gets it wrong. President that contests in an election appoints INEC head and even INEC state RECS.

Governors appoint their own state elections member.

This is the main cause of all the rigging activities called elections. The president can just give an order dying minute and Mahmud will disregard the laws of the land
