Wasn't the Ewes and the Northerners the reason why the NDC lost the last 2 elections?

The Voltarians decided not to vote in their numbers like they used to.
The Northerners decided to vote more than they would, for the NPP because of the Bawumia campaign effect, up north.

Thanks for the correction but the distinction I want to make here is when power change hands people jubilate but when a party retains power after 2 terms supporters of the winning party are always very careful

You are right, even Tinubu's speech while receiving his certificate hinted that his supporters must be magnanimous in victory given the keen contest and the nature of the election whereby he won with only 36% of the votes. It would have been foolish to go around celebrating. That's like calling for more disunity and resentment.

One small correction however, PDP ruled for 16 years before the APC organised themselves by coming together as a strong unit to pull them out. Before then, Buhari was the Peter Obi of the North with millions of votes in every election but he continually lost in every election from 2003 to 2011 until he aligned with the other opposition parties in the South. Only then could they take out the very strong PDP.

In those days, just like the Peter Obi supporters of today, northerners used to wonder why their favourite man Buhari (given how popular he was in their eyes) continually lost, until they realized he could never win without aligning properly with the South (any of South-East or South-West was just okay). To take out the PDP in 2015, APC was then a combination of 4 major sects.

..Buhari's CPC (With the large northern following )

..Tinubu's ACN (the strongest Southern Block)

...Rochas Okorocha's APGA (the eastern block)

....Old PDP ( consisting of old PDP Politicians, which was always going to be the weakest link going forward).

Yet Ewes and Northerners have some of the largest communities in Ashanti Region.

Asantes don't consider anyone as inferior except the northeners because of the history between the two... They are just big mouths who knows how to brag but they are very welcoming.

2015 elections was a contest between your two main political parties which the opposition party won so people had every right to jubilate.

But in this case the ruling party won hands down even in the face of all the difficulties the country is facing

The 2023 election was keenly contested by your two main political parties and a third force (which is Labour Party)
This goes to show that your 2015 and 2023 elections are different on all counts.
