According to the recently released 2023 Global Terrorism Index (GTI) report, Nigeria has dropped to the eighth position among countries hardest hit by terrorism in 2022, compared to its sixth position in the previous year’s report. Islamic State West Africa (ISWA) is ranked as the deadliest terror group in Nigeria, occupying the sixth position globally, followed by Boko Haram, which is the seventh on the global scale.





In a recent news shared by The Premium Times News channel, the report highlighted the inclusion of the outlawed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) among the 20 deadliest terror groups in the world. The group, which was designated as a terrorist organization by the Nigerian government in 2017, recorded their deadliest year in 2022, with responsibility for 40 attacks and 57 deaths, compared to 26 attacks and 34 deaths the previous year.

IPOB is leading the campaign for an independent state of Biafra, which would be carved out of the Igbo-speaking Southeast region and some parts of South-south Nigeria. The group’s increased attacks on police and other security agencies have been linked to clashes between law enforcement and IPOB, as reported in the 2022 GTI report.

This is just some stupid Nigerian who will not sleep without going on a thread mentioning about IPOB igbo or Biafra. All of the crimes committed in the south east blaming IPOB has Been debunked
