Why dont you come and grow rice in the land; see how much money you'll make competing with cheap asian rice.We have a free country. We are not a communist backwater that decides for people what to do - like Kenyans are kids.

Every kenyan sit down - and decides what to plant - after doing his own calculation.

Outcome - We have one Africa largest Agri sector - despite our semi-arid land.

That is beauty of economic freedom, free trade and capitalism.

Just30:
The very lands use to grow avocado and tea can be used to grow rice

at the price you buy rice, I'll make more money than anyone importing decades old rice from Asia but your country is a terrible place. I don't want to have to queue for fuel or not be able to find dollars to send home or struggle to have drinking water.

Your country cultivated lands is larger than that of Ghana yet Ghana largely feeds herself and ends more in Agriculture products export than Kenya.

Meanwhile every year, Kenyans go hungry despite having huge cultivated lands

Cost of production mad cow includes cost of queuing & paying for fuel and finding dollars. If it expensive - in kenya - think about bankrupt Ghana and dysfunctional Nigeria.

That is why it make sense to import rice from Asia - export chocolate for Ghana - tea for Kenya - and palm oil for Nigeria..

Again, I am not going to bother checking data from Ghana until 2037.

You're bankrupt. Bankrupt mad person is to be pitied.

sorry kiddo.. it will never make sense to import a staple that you can grow yourself.

Importing everything is the reason why Kenya is bankrupt.
No wonder the world pity Kenya because you guys are hungry, bankrupt and dumb to even produce the things you eat.

Kenya has 24 million hectares of cultivated land. That is the size of the entire Ghana. grin grin

Learn sense and grow your own food so that you don't end up running out of dollars like you have currently.

Ghana use just 6.5 million hectares of it lands to feed it people and also earn more in agriculture products export than Kenya.

Rice is cheaper in Nigeria than in Kenya and Ghana, rice is also cheaper in Ghana than in Kenya.

This why I call you a mad man.
Kenya is not bankrupt - dutifully repaying debt - this month alone we repaid china 500M dollars for the railway.
Ghana is bankrupt - has suspended payment of all domestic and external debts.
Those are not disputable facts.

The rest of nonsense are therefore not worth any response. It pure mad ranting

Same Kenya that has defaulted on too many commercials loans and counting ?

You think it is for no reason Kenya can't afford to buy food and fuel? The signs of a bankrupt nation

Ghana is paying both external and domestic debts.

I know truth and facts hurts your feeling and you'll always have no reply for them that to admit.

Lol - seek help. This is clinical madness.

Communist tried those ideas. Ghana became bankrupt first in 1962 - by communist Kwame Nkrumah. Then 1972. So many other times.

Until you get out of communist ideas like central planning (deciding this is staple food and therefore people plant this) you're going nowhere.

Capitalism, free trade and economic freedom will fix problems magically.

Throw in democracy. You've got a very stable prosperous nation like most of western Europe and northern America.

Countries with history of communism like Ghana and Tanzania still nurses hang overs of communism.

The key pillar of communism is central planning - the idea that economy is planned to be this way or that way - rather than allowing market forces in capitalism to work the chaos - and create wealth.

Central planning versus market forces.
A centrally planned economy, also known as a command economy, is an economic system where a government body makes economic decisions regarding the production and distribution of goods. Centrally planned economies are different from market economies, where these decisions are the result of thousands of choices by producers and consumers.

KEY TAKEAWAYS
In a centrally planned economy, major economic decisions are made by a central authority such as the government.
Centrally planned economies are different from market economies where large numbers of individual consumers and profit-seeking private firms operate most or all of the economy.
Central planning allows the government to marshal society's resources for goals that might not be achieved by market forces alone.
Central planning is commonly associated with socialist or communist forms of government.
Other countries might resort to central planning in times of war or national emergency.

Last time Ghana went bankrupt and couldn't import food and fuel was in the 1970s ... So Kenya is at where Ghana was, far back in the 1970s and you guys have had to have this experience 25 times in your miserable history since independence.

That's what communism has done to Kenya ... The stupidity of it, made you guys use 24 million hectares to grow nothing but tea, flowers and coffee.. and go hungry

The craziness you're displaying here is just an indication of food deprivity 😂🤣 something so common to all Kenyans.

Ghana is bankrupt now.
It's rated D - DEFAULT - BANKRUPT

The country has about $13 billion in dollar-denominated international bonds, or Eurobonds, as they are also known. Standard & Poor's credit rating for Ghana stands at SD with n/a outlook. Moody's credit rating for Ghana was last set at Ca with stable outlook.

None of that disprove the fact that Ghana is still paying her debt while feeding it people and providing fuel.

Meanwhile Bankrupt Kenya can't pay her debt, can't provide food for her citizens because it was too lazy to plant and don't have money to buy fuel hence the chaos in Kenya.

🤣😂🤣

Common sense that should be taught in all Kenyan homes is
Use the lands to provide Kenyan needs.

Madcow from bankrupt Ghana.

The 4 South African banks have made provisions of $267M for the impairment of Ghanaian bonds while Stanchart (UK) will set aside $160M.

Share prices so far this month:
—Stanchart: -19.2%
—Absa: -13.5%
—Standard Bank: -9.8%
—Nedbank: -8.1%
—FirstRand: -6.3%

Meanwhile banks can't even find dollars in your economy to transact business globally

The message is still the same, learn to grow the food you eat. We are tired of seeing your poor faces on global television at prime time. If a country can use 6.5 million hectares to feed itself and export then Kenya can do better with 24 million hectares.

Such a bankrupt country

Kenya economy will grow 6% almost - this year - despite 5yr of drought.
We are not bankrupt.
There is no dollar shortage that has impaired anyone from importing.
Inflation is not double digit.
It's 9.2%.

England and even US would die to have this kind of inflation. Broke Ghana official inflation is what 50% - unofficially it almost 100%

NAIROBI, Feb 28 (Reuters) - Kenya's inflation <KECPI=ECI> rose to 9.2% year-on-year in February from 9.0% a month earlier, the statistics office said on Tuesday, largely driven by food and transport prices.

February's inflation rate has broken three consecutive months when the rate fell. It rose to 9.6% in October, its highest level since May 2017. February's rate is still above the government's preferred range of 2.5% to 7.5%.

A growth that won't trickle down because it is a cosmetic bubble economy that is not transformative.

It will be dire and your debt situation grows dire every year.

Chaos is what is happening in Kenya at the moment, a situation Ghana last faced in 1970s ...learn so that it never happens in Kenya again.

It's an eyesore to see Broke Kenya force it citizens through this kind of miserable living where they have to queue for everything.

Stop projecting.
There is NOTHING worse than a country becoming bankrupt.
Ghana will take an entire generation to recover.
You generation will be called - THE LOST GENERATION IN LOST DECADE smiley

You've knocked yourself out for 15yrs!!!

Your own gov admitted they will sort debt earliest 2037
You wont start paying any debt until 2026.

You clearly have not understood what hell your country just did by declaring bankruptcy.

KENYA HAS NEVER DECLARED BANKRUPTCY. NEVER EVER.

There is no day a kenya finance minister has woken up to declare gov wont pay debt.

It worse thing a country can do - it takes years to clean - Argentina a developed country has now entered 20yrs - Zimbwabwe.

Yes there's nothing worse like a country becoming bankrupt.... That's why Kenyans are queuing for basic food and fuel. A sight I last saw in Venezuela.

Ghana has already paid so many debts this year.

Kenya has gone bankrupt 25 times in it miserable history.. the most of any country and over the last 5 year defaulted on so many debt, cumulating into the current dollars shortage we are seeing, leading to food and fuel shortage.

That's how messed up things are at the moment and it will only get worse. For Kenya to be able to fix this mess by 2036, your govt will have to cut down on expenditure by a 700 billion kshs and cut down on borrowing by 600 billion.
None of which has been achieved and it looks impossible because it will lead to an uprising

None of which have a bearing on whether you're paying your debt or have the capacity to pay or not ...
The bearing is determined by whether you have the money and so far Kenya does not have hence the defaults and IMF bailout. 140% on debt and wages alone

Similarities between Ghana and Sri Lanka.

Both are bankrupt.
Both tried cutting taxes but never cut spending.
Both are defaulters in huge debt to private western owned loans.
Both gave huge promises to the people.
Corruption is worse in both.

Difference between the two countries? Sri Lankans rose up and chased their fraud of a president out of the country while Ghanaians dont care and didn't rise up against the NPP at all.

Hell, even North Sudan rose up and overthrew their dictator and forced their military dictator to stepdown after the price of bread rose in the country and installed a civilian democracy.

Prefect description. From what I have seen online - most Ghanian are delusional. They dont even know what kind of mess they are in. It's likely they will reward their current regime with new term smiley

Is it tribalism? is it their poor education standards? Is their peaceful nature ? is it their communism.

There is a lot of similarities btw them and Tanzania - same "peaceful" timidness and fear of authority - it has to do with communism.

Well, you got to give Tanzanians some credit for standing up to their government.

The Maasai actually fought back when their president tried selling off their ancestral land to some Arabian king and his family to enjoy the sick, psychopathic sport of hunting and shooting our already endangered lions species.

Ghana has no similarities with Sri Lanka

The closest so far is Kenya.

If what was happening in Kenya at the moment were to happen in Ghana, the govt will be forced to resigned.

At the moment, even expenditure cut is not likely to safe Kenya unless they take the drastic step of laying off workers or cutting down on salaries

How would you know who is starving and not - when your opposition is in exile - media is repressed - and you live in dictatorship. You've been ruled by one party CCM since 1960s - and you will die when CCM will be running down your gov.

Sifuna is opposition leader doing his job to exaggerate the food insecurity.

Kenya is more food secure than all countries here bar South Africa.

Kenya again has almost twice TZ GDP - despite your country being incredibly fortunate with many things.

Heck the best part of TZ are those northern regions who neighbehour kenya in the north - at least they get some of windfall from strong kenyan economy.

Yes those who fought against the gov were mainly kenyan masai, and they eventually had to ran back to kenya after the authorities were looking for them.Tanzanians are generally peace loving folks. We are similar to malawians,Zambians and Botswana folks.
Surprisingly,Botswana and Malawi never tried a communism.

Anyway,u rather eat and be peaceful than go hungry and starve to death while achieving nothing
