The governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Ahmed Aliyu is coasting to victory after winning 16 out of the 20 local government areas declared so far.

Sokoto has 23 local government areas.

Aliyu is leading the PDP’s candidate, Sa’idu Umar Ubandoma with 41,585 votes.

In Sokoto, politicians scare residents with toxic campaigns

INEC bars party agents, journalists from Lagos collation centre in Somolu

According to the results, the APC’s candidate scored 352,606 votes while Ubandoma polled 311,021.

Results from the remaining three local government areas are still pending.

To be honest, what Obi did was really counter-productive. He divided the votes, making it difficult for PDP & even the LP to win in any state and in turn paving way for APC.
People shouting rigging are just making noise, with what Obi did, rigging isn't necessary.
All the complaints by Nigerians about APC didn't reflect in the elections.

It r flected in the elections with a drop in number of electorates
Also it became irrelevant because of the candidates that were vying against the APC
Then you have the divided opposition votes that made it look senseless



Now me use just one example that was evident

Imagine people want a change of government from APC to another government x.
The president pursued a disastrous economic policy that was hitting the citizens towards an election .the PDP and lp were backing the APC fed govt on that policy while the APC governors and candidates were literally fighting the president.
