No, he's just riding on the anger of the people. The people are angry because their livelihood is getting harder.
Nah, it's a public holiday in Kenya. National Odinga Day.

Exactly. Everyone knows Ruto has turned around the economy in a very short time.

When Raila was being supported by previous regime - he was abusing people talking about inflation/high price - saying they foolish to blame gov when it was Ukraine war.

You see inflation came down when Ruto was sworn in Sept - even in kenya driest month of Q1

Ruto took over - and fixed inflation - without any subsidies - and has restored prudent economic management.

What has been subsidized now is fertilizers - production subsidies - not CONSUMPTION SUBSIDIES (unless you want to join Ghana in bankruptcy)

Obaaderemi2:
But I just checked their inflation figures and they're lower than before.

oNot much changes, remember, these protests have been there for months, and its just now that most folks have decided to join. The Kenyan gov can't do much to reverse the high costs of things since most of these problems are there since independence. In short, kenya has these 3 problems at the moment

1.High food prices due to high cost of importation

2.Too huge debts and high cost of servicing the debts (65% of taxes goes to pay the debts )

3.High fuel prices.

Now,what will Ruto do to change these things fast?
Ruto inherited a country which neglected farming since independence
Ruto inherited a country which was already indebted
Ruto can't control international oil prices

Ruto is not a Tanzania with Low IQ - he is brilliant man who has hired brilliant folks to work on his economic council.

Ruto came to power aware of the situation.

And he has proposed realistic programs that will see

1) Kenya in 2yrs achieve recurrent budget surplus - for first time since I think 2006 or 2010.
2) Kenya debt to gdp will drop 55% in two years.
3) Kenya will focus on agriculture - manufacturing doesnt make sense - without excess cheap labour.
4) Kenya will focus on providing employment - through mass housing programs
5) Export of excess trained labour to middle east and other countries
6) Support of SMES - already huge funds been dispersed though the phones.

Only one country is starving and has shortages of everything.

That's the shame driving people to protest this bad in Kenya.

If you can't get the basic stuff right, it's no wonder you can't really developed your country and move it economy

The game

Your govt has organized a counter protest for it supporter, hope you're on the street grin

What are you telling us broke Ghanian.
Broke country cannot speak.
Broke man cannot be elected to be anything.

In kenya when you're declared bankrupt you lose you job as MP or Minister or President.

Unlike the COCOBOD that is corrupt - KTDA is Africa most successfully small holder farmers company - supporting 650,000 tea farmers with huge value chain.

Privately run - professionally run.

KTDA runs more than 70 tea factories - and is largest such small holder tea company maybe in the world.

cocobod is richer than your country .

It is so rich to the extent of financing roads , giving free fertilizer to farmers ( not subsidized , I mean totally free).

Cocobod is more profitable than your largest investment in kenya .

you keep throwing tantrum from unknown professor who find Ghana openess to scrutiny as an evidence , poor idiot .

Well this is more important , face it .

“This morning because of lack of business in the CBD, the country has lost some Ksh.2 billion,” DP Gachagua on Azimio protests in Nairobi.

And this expected to repeat itself every Monday

just shut up, your country is profiting less than 600 million dollars annually on its tea production , Ghana is doing almost 3 billion dollar on its cocoa production . And you stupidly want to compare the two?

If I begin to ask you for the evidence of roads now you will go mute

Ghana is not relevant in this thread so I don't see how your point about Coconod is relatable. Go seek relevance and recognition elsewhere.
