Presidential election, over 20m votes cast. Governorship election, less than 15m votes cast. What does that tell you ? Voter apathy due to lost confidence in Inec, voter suppression, violence in most states. You see those pdp votes in Governorship election, Obi's votes are in it. Most importantly, Anambra, Imo, Bayelsa, Edo etc didn't hold governorship election. Una no dey ever think |

HIGHESTPOPORI:Likewise Osun, Ekiti, Ondo, and some other APC states. If Obi is a popular candidate nationwide and not a tribal candidate, why did his party not win seats in at least 50% of the states where he won the presidential election? Labour Party is almost non existent in Benue, Plateau, & Nassarawa during this governorship election. That shows that Obi only got votes in those states because he is Christian and ran a religiously divisive campaign. 1 Like |

fabuloz1:Rigged election where? Why did they not rig it during presidential election? Why did they only rig during governorship? Obi simply ran a religious campaign and the Christian areas voted him especially in the middlebelt. For their state elections, they all have their own personal religious/tribal lines so they defaulted back to status quo. |

Obi was like an independent candidate. It's his personality,service while in office, antecedents,ability on the job,integrity and relatively corruption immune compared to the other major candidates that Nigerians identified and voted for. Why that is still difficult to understand should baffle anyone with commonsense. APC and PDP where lucky that Nigerian elections don't all hold in one day,if it had,the Obi effect would have caused a tsunami in states assemblies and flipped far more governorship seats than just the 1 labour party has. Even if you are a Peter Gregory Obi hater,you must commend and celebrate the phenomenon that he has become in Nigeria's politics and this is a man that is going no where and is gradually building up a political trajectory: governor 2 terms,VP candidate,now as presidential candidate has turned out to be the most impactful new presidential candidate of any Nigerian election ever |
