His Excellency Idris is no doubt one of the finest and affable politician in Sokoto State. APC Party stakeholders were very much aware of his capacity, thus selected him based on his experience and political background.

Alhaji Idris Gobir “He is an accomplished administrator, he is currently the deputy governor elect of Sokoto State.

He began his service career as a school teacher, before venturing into other public service sectors,” “This includes maritime and petroleum industries, where he served with the Nigeria Ports Authority and the Department of Petroleum Resources.”

In politics, Mr Gobir was a one-time commissioner for budget and economic planning and also served as sole administrator of Sabon Birni local government council of Sokoto state. He succeeded as two times best local government chairman of Nigeria during tenure of the former president, Good luck Jonathan.

The 47-year-old, who is an alumnus of the Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria also has five master’s degrees in various disciplines of human management and development, including computer software management, as well as Master of international affairs and diplomacy and master in peace and conflict management respectively.

Finally, he is accomodating and home base politician. During the disturbing frequent bandit attack, he handled the problem locally by providing local solutions that helped in defeating banditary to the barest minimum in the state
